West Geauga High School
West Geauga High School is a public high school in Chester Township, Ohio. It is the only high school in the West Geauga Local Schools district and serves Chester Township, Newbury Township, the Geauga portion of Hunting Valley, most of Russell Township, and a small part of Munson Township. History West Geauga School District formed in 1950 when Chester Township and Russell Township combined their township schools into one, becoming the first consolidated school district in Geauga County. In 2020, Newbury Township folded their school and through a territory transfer, became part of the district. Chesterland is a census-designated place (CDP) in Geauga County, Ohio, United States. As of the 2010 census, the CDP had a population of 2,521. History A post office called "Chester Cross Roads" was established in 1826, and the name was changed to "Chesterland" in 1898. Chesterland derives its name from Chester, Massachusetts. Geography Chesterland is in northwestern Geauga County at (41.522901, -81.337157), slightly to the southeast of the center of Chester Township. Hunting Valley
Hunting Valley is a village in Cuyahoga and Geauga counties in the U.S. state of Ohio, and an eastern suburb of the Greater Cleveland area. As of the 2010 census, the village population was 707. At the 2000 census, it was ranked the 6th highest-income place in the United States. It was the 17th highest-income place in the 2010 census but still the wealthiest locale in Ohio. Softball is a game similar to baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Softball is played competitively at club levels, the college level, and the professional level. The National Honor Society (NHS) is a nationwide organization for high school students in the United States and outlying territories, which consists of many chapters in high schools. Selection is based on four criteria: scholarship (academic achievement), leadership, service, and character. Newbury High School
Newbury High School was a public high school in Newbury Township, Geauga County, Ohio from 1927 to 2020. At the conclusion of the 2019–20 academic year, the school executed a territory transfer into the West Geauga School District. In 2022, both school buildings were demolished and as of January 1, 2023, all that remains are the overgrown remnants of the football stadium, a playground, and the old bus garage.
