West End Football Club is a football team, based in the Mayhill area of Swansea, Wales. They play in the West Wales Premier League, which is in the fourth tier of the Welsh football pyramid. History Formed in 1964 by a group of local enthusiasts in a local public house (The Wellington) which was situated in the west end of Swansea and so the birth of West End AFC. In 2004–05, the club won the FAW Trophy, defeating Rhydymwyn F.C. at Rhayader. Notable players Alan Beer played for West End before later joining Swansea City. Mayhill
Mayhill is a district of Swansea, Wales, at the top of a steep hill of the same name just north west of the Swansea city centre, city centre, partly separated from Townhill, Swansea, Townhill to the west. Mayhill Garden City started in 1914 as an experimental row of six houses that are still in occupation today. The majority of homes were built by 1940. Before the Mayhill Garden City project, Townhill Farm occupied the upper end of Waun Wen Road and a well, formerly used by Baptist Union of Wales , Baptists, was halfway down. Swansea Senior Football League
The Swansea Senior Association Football League or Swansea Senior League, is a league competition featuring non-professional association football clubs in the area of Swansea, south Wales. The league consists of seven divisions, three for "first teams" and four for "reserves" and lower teams. The top division, Division One is just below West Wales Premier League, and therefore sits at level 5 of the Welsh football pyramid. History Formed in 1901 as the ''Swansea Junior League'', the first organised league in the Swansea area launched a Senior League in 1903–04, followed in 1904–05 by a name change to the ''Swansea & District League''. West Wales FA Senior Cup
The West Wales FA Senior Cup was the regional knock-out competition for the higher ranked clubs beneath the umbrella of the West Wales Football Association until its end in 2009. It has been replaced with the WWFA Intermediate Cup, a tournament for clubs below Tier 3 in the Welsh football pyramid that play in West Wales. The cup was open to clubs competing in the Welsh Football League, the League of Wales / Welsh Premier League following its formation in 1992, and also Swansea City. In later years the Senior Cup winners of the county leagues – Carmarthenshire, Neath & District, Pembrokeshire and Swansea – would be invited to take part. The West Wales Intermediate Challenge Cup is the regional knock-out competition for clubs beneath the umbrella of the West Wales Football Association, at the level of Tier 4 and below of the Welsh Football Pyramid in South West Wales. The tournament invites clubs typically from the top divisions of the Carmarthenshire League, Neath & District League, Pembrokeshire League and Swansea Senior League. Welsh Football League
The Welsh Football League (also known as the Nathaniel Car Sales Welsh Football League for sponsorship reasons) was a club football league in Wales. For its final season in 2019–20 season it operated at levels 3 and 4 of the Welsh football league system. Level 3 – the Welsh Football League Division One and level 4 Welsh Football League Division Two. It folded in 2020 after the Football Association of Wales took over the running of tier 3 leagues and the responsibility for tier 4 passed to regional football associations. Ashley Darel Jazz Richards (born 12 April 1991) is a Welsh footballer who plays as a full-back for Cymru Premier club Haverfordwest County. A versatile player who is also capable of playing at left-back and as a midfielder, Richards began his professional career at his hometown club Swansea City, having previously played youth football for their local rivals Cardiff City. He made only 51 appearances for the club in all competitions during a six-year spell with the first team.
