The Wessington Springs Saints were a minor league baseball team based in Wessington Springs, South Dakota. In 1920, the Saints briefly played as members of the Class D level South Dakota League, hosting home minor league games at the Wessington Springs City Park. Wessington Springs College was an institution of higher learning located in Wessington Springs, Jerauld County, South Dakota. The college, affiliated with the Free Methodist Church, was founded in as "Wessington Springs Seminary." It was renamed "Wessington Springs Junior College" in 1918, and became Wessington Springs College in 1932. For most of its existence the school offered a four-year high school program, as well as a two-year junior college curriculum. The college program at Wessington Springs was discontinued in , and the high school closed in . The Mitchell Kernels were a minor league baseball team based in Mitchell, South Dakota. The Kernels played as members of the South Dakota League (1920), Dakota League (1921–1922), South Dakota League (1923), Nebraska State League (1936–1937) and Western League (1939–1940), winning four league championships.
