Wesley Sutton
Wesley Malik Sutton (born February 9, 1996) is an American professional football defensive back for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). College career Sutton played college football for the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks from 2014 to 2018. He played in 42 games where he had 96 solo tackles, 56 assisted tackles, six interceptions, and one forced fumble. Professional career Sutton was not selected in the 2019 NFL draft and was invited to rookie camp with the Philadelphia Eagles, but was not signed. New York Guardians After not playing football in 2019, Sutton signed with the New York Guardians ahead of the 2020 season. After making the gameday roster, he made his professional debut on February 9, 2020, against the Tampa Bay Vipers, where he had two sacks and a tackle for a loss. Winnipeg Blue Bombers
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are a professional Canadian football team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Pass Interference
In American and Canadian gridiron football, pass interference (PI) is a foul that occurs when a player interferes with an eligible receiver's ability to make a fair attempt to catch a forward pass. Pass interference may include tripping, pushing, pulling, or cutting in front of the receiver, covering the receiver's face, or pulling on the receiver's hands or arms. It does not include catching or batting the ball before it reaches the receiver. Noel Thorpe
Noel Thorpe is a professional Canadian football coach who is currently the defensive coordinator for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He is a Grey Cup, Vanier Cup, and IFAF World Cup champion. He played college football for the St. Cloud State Huskies. Coaching career Early college career Thorpe began his coaching career with the UBC Thunderbirds of the CIAU in 1996 as the program's defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach. Shortly thereafter, in 1997, he earned his first Vanier Cup win as a coach for the 33rd Vanier Cup championship team. Halfback (Canadian Football)
The halfback in Canadian football, and most commonly the Canadian Football League, currently refers to the defensive back rather than the running back, as in American football. The defensive halfback lines up inside covering the slotback. They are usually slightly larger than the cornerback to assist the linebackers in stopping the run. A cornerback (CB) is a member of the defensive backfield or secondary in gridiron football. Cornerbacks cover receivers most of the time, but also blitz and defend against such offensive running plays as sweeps and reverses.
