Werriwa
The Division of Werriwa is an Australian electoral division in the state of New South Wales. The name Werriwa derives from a local Aboriginal name for Lake George, which was located in the division when it was established in 1900. The division was one of the original 65 divisions first contested at the first federal election. Werriwa now covers an area in south-west Sydney, including the suburbs of Ashcroft, Austral, Bonnyrigg Heights, Busby, Carnes Hill, Cartwright, Casula, Cecil Hills, Edmondson Park, Glenfield, Green Valley, Heckenberg, Hinchinbrook, Horningsea Park, Hoxton Park, Long Point, Lurnea, Macquarie Fields, Macquarie Links, Middleton Grange, Miller, Minto, Prestons, Sadleir, and West Hoxton; as well as parts of Badgerys Creek, Bonnyrigg, Bringelly, Cecil Park, Denham Court, Ingleburn, Kemps Creek, Leppington, Mount Pritchard, and Rossmore. Anne Stanley (politician)
Anne Maree Stanley (; born 6 October 1961) is an Australian politician. She is a member of the Australian Labor Party (ALP) and has served in the House of Representatives since the 2016 federal election, representing the Division of Werriwa. She previously served on the Liverpool City Council from 2008 to 2016. Early life Stanley was born in Sydney, one of two daughters born to Margaret () and William Mee. Her parents were both ALP supporters, and her mother worked for the Building Workers' Industrial Union of Australia. Prior to entering politics, Stanley worked as a bank officer for nearly 30 years. Politics Stanley joined the Australian Labor Party (ALP) in 1996 "as a response to the reactionary policies of the Howard government". Lake George (New South Wales)
Lake George (or Weereewa in the Ngunnawal language) is an Endorheic basin, endorheic lake in south-eastern New South Wales, Australia. It is approximately north-east of Canberra located adjacent to the Federal Highway (Australia), Federal Highway en route to and Sydney. Lake George is also the name of a locality on the western and southern edges of the lake, within the area of the Queanbeyan–Palerang Regional Council. Middleton Grange is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Green Valley is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Cecil Hills is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Cecil Hills is located 38 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Liverpool and is part of the Greater Western Sydney region. History In 1817, John Wylde, the judge-advocate of New South Wales, was granted in the Parish of Cabramatta. He named his property Cecil Hills after his British property in Chestnut, Hertfordshire. Cartwright is a suburb in south-western Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia 38 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Liverpool.
