Werner Seifert
Werner Seifert (born 4 July 1949) is a Swiss businessman and the former chief executive of the German Stock Exchange. Career German Stock Exchange He formed the Eurex Exchange in 1998; the UK equivalent is LIFFE ( London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange). He formed the Xetra (trading system). He tried to merge the German Stock Exchange with the London Stock Exchange (LSE) in 2000, and to take it over in 2005. Personal life He is a musician and plays the piano. Eurex Exchange
Eurex Exchange is an international exchange which primarily offers trading in European based derivatives. It is the largest European futures and options market. The products traded on this exchange vary from German and Swiss debt instruments to European stocks and various stock indexes. All transactions executed on Eurex Exchange are cleared through Eurex Clearing, which functions as a central counterparty (CCP) for multi-asset class clearing of the above-mentioned exchange-traded product range as well as over-the-counter traded products. According to the 2015 Futures Industry Association’s annual survey, Eurex Exchange is ranked as the world's third-largest derivatives exchange by contract volume. London International Financial Futures And Options Exchange
The London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange (LIFFE, pronounced 'life') was a futures exchange based in London. In 2014, following a series of takeovers, LIFFE became part of Intercontinental Exchange, and was renamed ICE Futures Europe. Euronext acquired LIFFE in 2002, and were then in turn taken over by NYSE in 2007, to form NYSE Euronext. The main rationale for this transaction was to gain ownership of LIFFE. In the same manner, Intercontinental Exchange then purchased NYSE Euronext in 2013, principally to acquire LIFFE. Xetra (Market Identifier Code (MIC): XETR) is a trading venue operated by Frankfurter Wertpapierbörse (FWB, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange) based in Frankfurt, Germany. In 2015, 90 percent of all trading in shares at all German exchanges was transacted through the Xetra trading venue. With regard to DAX listings, Xetra has 60 per cent market share throughout Europe.
