Carson James Wentz (born December 30, 1992) is an American football quarterback for the Washington Commanders of the National Football League (NFL). Wentz played college football at North Dakota State, where he won two consecutive NCAA FCS national championships as the team's starter. He was selected second overall by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2016 NFL Draft, making him the FCS's highest drafted player. Wentz's greatest success with the Eagles was in 2017 when he led them to an 11–2 record. Although he suffered a season-ending injury, Wentz helped put the Eagles in position to obtain the top seed of the National Football Conference (NFC), which culminated with the franchise's first Super Bowl title in Super Bowl LII. Peter Lewis Kingston Wentz III (born June 5, 1979) is an American musician best known as the bassist and lyricist for the rock band Fall Out Boy since 2001. Walter Yeeling Evans-Wentz (February 2, 1878 – July 17, 1965) was an American anthropologist and writer who was a pioneer in the study of Tibetan Buddhism, and in transmission of Tibetan Buddhism to the Western world, most known for publishing an early English translation of ''Bardo Thodol, The Tibetan Book of the Dead'' in 1927. Earl Wentz (March 22, 1938 – November 15, 2009) was an American pianist, composer, and musical director most noted for his creation in 2000 of the American Composer Series, an ongoing performance series in the cabaret format. He is the 1984 Olympic bronze medallist, and a two-time World Championship medallist. Career Wentz was born in Rothenbach. Janet Wentz (''née'' Neff, July 21, 1937 – September 15, 2003) was the speaker of the North Dakota House of Representatives from January 7, 2003 until her death. She was elected in December 2002 to serve from January 2003 and was the second woman to become speaker of the North Dakota legislature. Representative Matthew Klein succeeded her as speaker. Byron W. Wentz (April 21, 1901 – May 25, 1963) was an American football player. He was one of the leading offensive stars during the early years of the National Football League. Wentz attended Penn State University. There helped the Nittany Lions get to the 1923 Rose Bowl. In 1925 Wentz made his NFL debut with the Pottsville Maroons. In 1925 Wentz helped the Maroons win the NFL Championship. However the title was stripped from the team due to a rules violation. Barney was also instrumental at during Pottsville's infamous win against the Notre Dame All-Stars featuring the Four Horsemen, a team that was considered better than any amateur or pro team, in 1925.
