Wendi Peters
Wendi Louise Peters (born 29 February 1968) is an English actress. Peters began her acting career in theatre, with appearances in various productions including ''The Scarlet Pimpernel'' (1991), ''Guys and Dolls'' (1991), ''Into the Woods'' (1992), '' Bedroom Farce'' (1996) and ''Noises Off'' (1997). Then from 2003 to 2007, she portrayed Cilla Battersby-Brown in the ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street''. After leaving ''Coronation Street'' to pursue other opportunities, she competed in and reached the final of ''Celebrity MasterChef'', before returning to the stage to appear in various touring productions and West End theatre roles. She reprised her role of Cilla in 2014 for a brief stint and then appeared in the CBBC series ''Hetty Feather'' from 2015 to 2017. Blackburn () is an industrial town and the administrative centre of the Blackburn with Darwen borough in Lancashire, England. ''Soapstar Superstar'' is a British talent show that aired on ITV from 6 January 2006 to 13 January 2007. The show's format works in a similar format to that of ''Pop Idol'' and ''The X Factor'', in that the competition features a group of soap opera actors performing in front of a celebrity panel of judges, with the weakest performers being eliminated when they receive the fewest votes from the judges and a public vote. ''Out of the Blue'' is a British television crime drama series, set and filmed in Sheffield, and broadcast on BBC One between 23 May 1995, and 9 September 1996. A total of twelve episodes were broadcast across two series. John Hannah and David Morrissey starred as the main protagonists in each respective series. ''Out of the Blue'' follows a team of detectives at Brazen Gate CID through grisly murder cases, clashes with an already-divided community and through the dramas of their personal lives. ''Cardiac Arrest'' was a British medical drama series made by World Productions for BBC1. It first broadcast between 1994 and 1996. The series was controversial owing to its cynical depiction of doctors, nurses, and the National Health Service (NHS), although it has often topped polls of the UK medical profession as the most realistic medical drama of all time. The series was created by Jed Mercurio (writing under the pseudonym John MacUre), a former junior doctor who had worked at a hospital in Wolverhampton. Mercurio drew on his experience to provide a more visceral, albeit wryly humorous, look at the NHS in the 1990s. At the time of airing, Mercurio was still working as a doctor.
