Wendla Åberg
Wendla Åberg (1791-1864), was a Swedish stage actress and ballet dancer. She was a star attraction of the Gothenburg theatre and one of the most celebrated stage actors outside of the provincial theatre in her time. Wendla Åberg was the daughter of the opera singer Inga Åberg and the nobleman Carl Gustaf von Stockenström. Wendela Hebbe (9 September 1808, Jönköping – 27 August 1899, Stockholm), was a Swedish journalist, writer, and salon hostess. Vendela Skytte (or Wendela Skytte) (8 December 1608 – 18 August 1629) was a Swedish noblewoman, salonist and writer, poet and Lady of Letters. During her lifetime, she became an ideal and role model for a learned female scholar. Biography Vendela Skytte was born to statesman and noble Johan Skytte and Maria Näf and became the aunt of Gustav Skytte, Maria Skytte and Christina Anna Skytte. Growing up in an environment where humanists such as Thomas More, Erasmus of Rotterdam and Juan Luis Vives were popular, she was given the same education as her brothers by her father – her sister Anna Skytte also became respected for her learning. Wendela Gustafva Sparre
Wendela Gustafva Sparre af Rossvik (December 14, 1772 – May 7, 1855) was a Swedish textile artist. She was a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts. She managed the Harg ironworks in Uppland between 1816 and 1827. Life Sparre was born at Långdunker manor in Hyltinge parish in Södermanland to the noble Gabriel Sparre af Rossvik, captain of the royal regiment of Prince Frederick Adolf of Sweden, and Maria Vendela Ulfsparre af Broxvik. On 15 October 1801, she married the nobleman and royal equerry Axel Oxenstierna (1743-1816), with whom she had a son, Carl Gabriel Oxenstierna (1802-1873). After her marriage Sparre spent the majority of her life on her husband's estate, the Hargs ironworks in Uppland. She nursed her son, who was in poor health during his childhood. She is the author of multiple books, has worked as a writing teacher, and is a founder and editor of '' The Believer'' magazine. Early life Vida was born on the 6 September 1971 in San Francisco, California. Both of her parents were European immigrants, her mother was from Sweden and her father is Hungarian. She inherited the name Vendela from her maternal grandmother. She left California to get her bachelor's degree in English in 1993 at Middlebury College in Vermont, and it was through a mutual friend from her undergraduate degree that she met her future spouse, Dave Eggers.
