Wendel Geraldo Maurício e Silva, commonly known as Wendel, (born 8 April 1982) is a Brazilian former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Wendel started his career with Cruzeiro Esporte Clube in 1998 with the youth team. By 2000 he began featuring in some matches for the senior side. In 2005, he was loaned out to Santos on an 18-month deal. After a successful spell there, Wendel secured a move to Bordeaux from Cruzeiro in August 2006. Bordeaux Soon after he signed for Bordeaux, he broke into the first team and by the end of his first season he had played a total of 29 league games with five goals. Career Corinthians The defensive midfielder player started his career at Corinthians in Sao Paulo, with which in 2005 he won the Brazilian championship. In 2006, he was sent to Fortaleza EC. Wendel returned to the Corithians in 2007, but after 2 games went to FC Ituano. In the summer of 2007, he moved to the LASK Linz. Howard Cruse (May 2, 1944 – November 26, 2019) was an American alternative cartoonist known for the exploration of gay themes in his comics. First coming to attention in the 1970s during the underground comix movement with ''Barefootz'', he was the founding editor of ''Gay Comix'' in 1980, created the gay-themed strip ''Wendel'' during the 1980s, and reached a more mainstream audience in 1995 when an imprint of DC Comics published his graphic novel ''Stuck Rubber Baby.''
