Wen Xiaoyan
Wen Xiaoyan (born 12 October 1997) is a Chinese Paralympic athlete. She represented China at the 2016 Summer Paralympics and she won two gold medals and one silver medal. She also won three gold medals at the 2020 Summer Paralympics held in Tokyo, Japan. Career Wen won the gold medal in the women's long jump T37 event and the silver medal in the women's 400 metres T37 event. In the women's 4 × 100 metres relay T35-T38 event she won the gold medal together with Jiang Fenfen, Chen Junfei and Li Yingli. At the 2017 World Para Athletics Championships held in London, United Kingdom, Wen won the gold medal in the women's long jump T37 event. Two years later at the 2019 World Para Athletics Championships held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates she won three gold medals and one silver medal. Para-athletics
Para-athletics is the sport of athletics practised by people with a disability as a parasport. The athletics events within the parasport are mostly the same as those available to able-bodied people, with two major exceptions in wheelchair racing and the club throw, which are specific to the division. The sport is known by various names, including disability athletics, disabled track and field and Paralympic athletics. Top-level competitors may be called elite athletes with disability. Competitors are typically organised into three broad categories: deaf sports, athletes with a physical disability, and athletes with an intellectual disability. World Para Athletics Championships
The World Para Athletics Championships, known as the IPC Athletics World Championships prior to 2017, are a biennial Paralympic athletics event organized by World Para Athletics, a subcommittee of the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). It features athletics events contested by athletes with physical and intellectual disabilities. The first IPC Athletics World Championships were held in Berlin, Germany in 1994. They are a Paralympic parallel to the World Athletics Championships for able-bodied athletes. Since 2011, when they switched from a quadrennial scheduling to biennial, the IPC championships have been held in the same years as the IAAF championships, although they are separate events and are not necessarily held in the same host city. 2024 World Para Athletics Championships
The 2024 World Para Athletics Championships is an upcoming Paralympic track and field meet organized by the World Para Athletics subcommittee of the International Paralympic Committee. It will be the 11th edition of the event and it is scheduled to be held in the Kobe Universiade Memorial Stadium in Kobe, Japan, from 17 to 25 May 2024. This will be the first time the event is held in East Asia. The event was initially scheduled for September 2021 but it was rescheduled to avoid clashing with the 2020 Summer Paralympics which were rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In January 2022, the organisers requested World Para Athletics for postponement of the event until 2024 due to COVID-19 concerns. A week later, World Para Athletics confirmed that the event would not be held in 2022. The 2023 World Para Athletics Championships was a Paralympic track and field meet organized by the World Para Athletics subcommittee of the International Paralympic Committee. It was the 10th edition of the event and was held in the Charlety Stadium in Paris, France, from 8 to 17 July 2023. Paris was announced as the host city in December 2021.
