Welford National Park
Welford is a national park in Central West Queensland, Australia, 991 km west of Brisbane. It is located 30km to the South-east of Jundah. The park was established in 1994 to protect the biodiversity of the Mulga Lands, Mitchell Grass Downs and Channel Country bioregions. The southern border is marked by the Barcoo River. The name of the park comes from the original owner of the grazing station, Richard Welford, which was eventually called Welford Downs after his death. Welford himself had named the station Walton. The rare yellow-footed rock-wallaby is found in the park as are aboriginal stone arrangements and water wells. Welford Homestead is heritage-listed homestead built in the early 1880s. Camping with a permit is allowed at one site along the Barcoo River. Recreational activities are centered on the permanent waterholes along the Barcoo where visitors can enjoy fishing, canoeing and kayaking. Welford, Berkshire
Welford is a rural village and civil parish in West Berkshire, England occupying both sides of the valley of the River Lambourn north-west of Newbury and south of Wantage. It forms a strip parish which tapers in the south where it contains the hamlet of Halfway. It has Welford Park which has annual snowdrop displays. The M4 motorway passes through the parish, but has no junctions within it. RAF Welford, a munitions depot used by the United States Air Force, is to the north of the village. RAF Welford
Royal Air Force Welford or more simply RAF Welford is an active Royal Air Force station in Berkshire, England. The station is located approximately northwest of Newbury; about west-southwest of London Opened in 1943, it was used during the Second World War by both the Royal Air Force and United States Army Air Forces. During the war it was used primarily as a transport airfield. After the war it was closed in 1946 and placed in reserve status. As a result of the Cold War, the station was reopened in 1955 as a munitions depot by the United States Air Force. Today it is one of the largest ammunition compounds for the United States Air Force in Western Europe for heavy munitions. Welford is a village and civil parishes in England, civil parish in England, on the River Avon, Warwickshire, River Avon border between Northamptonshire and Leicestershire. Welford Road (currently known as Mattioli Woods Welford Road for sponsorship reasons) is a rugby union stadium in Leicester, England, and is the home ground of Leicester Tigers. The ground was opened on 10 September 1892, and is located between Aylestone Road and Welford Road on the southern edge of the city centre. Welford-on-Avon
Welford-on-Avon is a village situated some west-south-west of Stratford-upon-Avon in the county of Warwickshire, England. The population was measured at 1,420 in the 2011 census. Until 1931, Welford-on-Avon was in Gloucestershire (as part of the Rural District of Marston Sicca), when it was transferred to Stratford-on-Avon Rural District. Since 1974 it has been part of the Stratford-on-Avon District. Welford sits within a meander of the river Avon, on the south bank of the river. The village maypole is one of the tallest in England (at 65 feet / 20 metres). It used to be wooden but was replaced by an aluminium pole after a lightning strike. There are three pubs and many Tudor half-timbered and thatched cottages, mostly close to the village church, which is in the oldest part of Welford.
