''Welcome to the New Cold World'' is an Album by Lights Action. It was released worldwide on March 2, 2009 as a digital download only, with the option to buy a CD version through the band's website. Track listing Information of Value Funding The album was produced and mastered on a slim budget of around £15k. Much of the recording costs of the album were funded through the investment engine " SliceThePie". Recording The band spent the vast majority of 2008 writing and recording the album. Over 18 tracks were recorded for the album, the band choosing 10 to make the final cut. Dirty Pretty Strings The London-based string quartet "Dirty Pretty Strings" feature on four of the songs on the album. Lights Action were a British rock quintet from London/Oxford/Chelmsford made up of Patrick Currier (vocals), Karl Bareham (guitar), Chris Moorhead (guitar/keyboards), Alex Leeder (bass) and Steven Durham (drums). The band broke up in 2011. Initial releases Their first single, "Satellites", was released on 7 May 2007. The single was re-released as a limited edition double A-Side single at the end of April 2008, backed with the song "Us Against the World". City And Colour
Dallas Michael John Albert Green (born September 29, 1980) is a Canadian musician, singer, songwriter and record producer who records under the name City and Colour. He is also known for his contributions as a singer, rhythm guitarist and songwriter for the post-hardcore band Alexisonfire. In 2005, he debuted his first full-length album, ''Sometimes'', which achieved platinum certification in 2006. City and Colour began performing in small intimate venues between Alexisonfire tours. The name ''City and Colour'' comes from his own name: ''Dallas'', a city, and ''Green'', a colour. String Quartet
The term string quartet can refer to either a type of musical composition or a group of four people who play them. Many composers from the mid-18th century onwards wrote string quartets. A musical keyboard is the set of adjacent depressible levers or keys on a musical instrument. Guitar
