''Welcome to the Neighbourhood'' is the seventh studio album by American rock singer Meat Loaf, released in 1995 as the follow-up to his successful comeback album '' Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell''. It went platinum in the United States and United Kingdom. The album is thought of as a concept album, as all of the songs are ordered in the track listing as to tell a story about a relationship throughout the years. Three singles were released: "I'd Lie for You (And That's the Truth)" (a duet with Patti Russo), "Not a Dry Eye in the House" and "Runnin' for the Red Light (I Gotta Life)". They reached #2, #7 and #21 in the UK charts, with the first two written by Diane Warren, who later also wrote songs for Meat Loaf's albums ''Couldn't Have Said It Better'' and '' Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose''. Michael Lee Aday (born Marvin Lee Aday; September 27, 1947 – January 20, 2022), known professionally as Meat Loaf, was an American rock singer and actor. "Left in the Dark" is a song by Jim Steinman from his only solo album '' Bad for Good''. The song gained more notice as performed by Barbra Streisand when released as the lead single from her album ''Emotion'' in autumn 1984. It was also recorded by Meat Loaf on the album '' Welcome to the Neighbourhood'' in 1995. Barbra Streisand version Streisand's rendition of the song is a power ballad which tells about experiences of a woman who finds out her partner has been cheating on her. ''Original Sin'' is a concept album performed by Pandora's Box and produced by Jim Steinman. Steinman wrote the majority of this album, although there are a couple of cover versions. It was the group's only album, and was a commercial flop. Although the album was not a commercial success (except in South Africa), many of the songs have gone platinum with other artists. Steinman is said to have been very proud of the songs on this album, even though ''Original Sin'' sold very poorly in comparison with his highest selling albums and songs. The album charted at #43 in Sweden. Pandora's Box (band)
Pandora's Box was a female pop group, assembled by Jim Steinman in the 1980s. Some of its members had previously worked with Steinman, in the ensemble Fire Inc., on the album ''Bat Out of Hell'', on live shows and on other studio recordings. They produced one concept album, '' Original Sin'', released in 1989. Line-up The listed members, whose photos were put on the album, were Elaine Caswell, Ellen Foley, Gina Taylor, Deliria Wilde and Jim Steinman, who was listed as a keyboardist. The album credits two more artists with lead vocals on songs: Laura Theodore and Holly Sherwood. Additionally, backing vocals were performed by Rory Dodd, Eric Troyer and Todd Rundgren. James Richard Steinman (November 1, 1947 – April 19, 2021) was an American composer, lyricist and record producer. He also worked as an arranger, pianist, and singer. His work included songs in the adult contemporary, rock, dance, pop, musical theater, and film score genres. The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO) is an Australian orchestra based in Melbourne. The MSO is resident at Hamer Hall. The MSO has its own choir, the MSO Chorus, following integration with the Melbourne Chorale in 2008. The Monster Is Loose
''Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose'' is the ninth studio album by Meat Loaf, and the third and final album in the ''Bat Out of Hell'' trilogy. It was released in Ireland on October 20, 2006, 29 years after ''Bat Out of Hell'' (1977), and 13 years after '' Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell'' (1993). It was released in the UK on October 23, 2006, and in the US on October 31, 2006. Produced by Desmond Child, it is the only ''Bat'' album not involving Jim Steinman in its production. The album was subject to a legal dispute between Meat Loaf and Steinman, who had registered the phrase "Bat Out of Hell" as a trademark and attempted to prevent the album using the phrase. In the end, seven songs that Steinman wrote for various other projects were included. As with its predecessors, the album received mixed reviews. ''Couldn't Have Said It Better'' is the eighth studio album by Meat Loaf, released in the UK on April 21, 2003. For only the third time in his career, he released an album without any songs written by Jim Steinman (not counting the bonus tracks). Meat Loaf claimed that ''Couldn't Have Said It Better'' was "the most perfect album edid since ''Bat Out of Hell''". Three singles were released: "Did I Say That?", "Couldn't Have Said It Better" and " Man of Steel", all with little chart impact. The album was recorded for Universal Music Germany's Polydor division and was licensed to Mercury Records for its UK release and Sanctuary Records for US release, while global distribution was handled by parent company Universal Music Group.
