''Welcome Oblivion'' is the debut studio album by American post-industrial group How to Destroy Angels. It was released on March 5, 2013 on Columbia Records. It was described as "sensual electronic rock" by the ''Los Angeles Times''. Promotion The release date for the album was announced on January 10, 2013, via the band's official blog. The album cover for the vinyl edition and the track list was announced on January 31, 2013. The iTunes version of the album included the six tracks that made up the band's first EP, '' How to Destroy Angels'', as bonus tracks. How To Destroy Angels (band)
How to Destroy Angels (HTDA) is an American post-industrial band formed in 2009 by Nine Inch Nails members Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross alongside Reznor's wife Mariqueen Maandig and longtime Nine Inch Nails collaborator Rob Sheridan. The group is named after a 1984 Coil EP of the same name. Alessandro Cortini joined the lineup for the duration of the 2013 tour. Releases The band's first release was a self-titled EP released on June 1, 2010. The band released a single from the album, "A Drowning", as digital downloadable content, and a second song, "The Space in Between," debuted as a music video on Pitchfork on May 14, 2010. Alan Moulder (born 11 June 1959) is an English record producer, mixing engineer, and audio engineer. Early life Moulder was born on 11 June 1959 in Boston, Lincolnshire. He was educated at Boston Grammar School. He had an interest in music from an early age, listing Cream and The Beatles among his favourite artists. The first album he bought was ''Electric Warrior'' by T. Rex, and he was impressed by the quality of the recording. He joined his first band as a teenager and recorded a demo in a local studio; it was there that he realised that it had been the production that he had so enjoyed on ''Electric Warrior'', and discovered that he was more interested in music engineering than performing. Alessandro Cortini
Alessandro Cortini (born 24 May 1976) is an Italian musician best known for being the keyboard, guitar, and bass player in the industrial band Nine Inch Nails. Cortini is also the frontman for the Los Angeles-based electronic-alternative band SONOIO. He was a touring member of The Mayfield Four from 2000 to 2002. He was also a founding member of Modwheelmood, an electronic/alternative band from Los Angeles, with former Abandoned Pools guitarist Pelle Hillström. Robert Sheridan (born October 11, 1979) is an American graphic designer, art director, photographer, and comic book author best known for his extensive work with the band Nine Inch Nails. Biography Sheridan attended art school at New York's Pratt Institute for one year before being hired at age 19 by Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor in 1999, on the merits of a Nine Inch Nails fansite he created during high school. He was initially hired to maintain the newly launched official Nine Inch Nails website. Atticus Matthew Cowper Ross (born 16 January 1968) is an English musician, record producer, composer, and audio engineer. Along with Trent Reznor, he won the Academy Award for Best Original Score for ''The Social Network'' in 2010. "Ice Age" is a song by American post-industrial group How to Destroy Angels from their second release, ''An Omen EP''. It is also one of four songs from the extended play to be featured on their first full-length release, ''Welcome Oblivion''. Music video "Ice Age" is one of three songs from ''An Omen EP'' with a music video (the other two being "Keep It Together" and "The Loop Closes"). It was directed by John Hillcoat, unlike the other two videos which were directed by the group themselves. The music video for the song premiered on November 28, 2012 through How to Destroy Angels' VEVO channel on YouTube. It featured on the group's Vimeo page a day later. Shynola are a directing team who have worked across live-action and animation for over twenty years. Gideon Baws, Chris Harding, Richard Kenworthy and Jason Groves formed Shynola while at art college and immediately earned recognition for their inventive work.
