''Welcome Home'' is the sixth studio album by American heavy metal band Hellyeah. It was released on September 27, 2019, and is the last album to feature drummer and founding member Vinnie Paul before his death on June 22, 2018. ''Welcome Home'' was also the last album Hellyeah released before going on hiatus in 2021. History On March 14, 2019, the band announced a new album would be released on June 28, and the song "333" was also released. On May 13, the band announced Stone Sour drummer Roy Mayorga as the new tour drummer for Hellyeah, while also announcing "Welcome Home" as the title of their next album, with a new release date of September 27, 2019. On May 17, a music video for the single and title track "Welcome Home" was released. On June 28, the music video for "Oh My God" was released. Hellyeah
Hellyeah, stylized as HELLYEAH, was an American heavy metal supergroup formed in Dallas, Texas, in 2006. The band's last lineup consisted of lead vocalist Chad Gray, guitarists Christian Brady and Tom Maxwell, bassist Kyle Sanders, and drummer Roy Mayorga. The idea to form a supergroup originated in 2000 on the Tattoo the Earth tour, although plans were constantly put on hold due to scheduling conflicts. The summer of 2006 allowed the band to take the project seriously and record its first album. Recorded at Chasin' Jason studio in Dimebag Darrell's backyard, their self-titled album entered the ''Billboard'' 200 at number 9, selling 45,000 copies. They went on to release five more studio albums between 2010 and 2019. As of 2021, the band is on hiatus. MetalSucks is a heavy metal music-themed news website. The site features reviews, interviews, information on latest metal releases and blog-like posts from the writers, most notably Vince Neilstein and Axl Rosenberg. History The site was founded in December 2006 by authors Ben Umanov and Matthew Goldenberg who use the pen names Vince Neilstein and Axl Rosenberg. In April 2009, MetalSucks was awarded Metal Hammer's Web of Death Award for "Best Reviews" for its "honest, insightful, unpretentious – and fun – reviews." On October 4, 2009, one of the writers for MetalSucks was accused of leaking the album ''Axe to Fall'' by Converge onto the internet prior to its official release. The site formally apologized for the leak. On April 12, 2011, F.Y.E. released the MetalSucks Fan Pack, a CD compilation that included 20 bands and a T-shirt. Tom Maxwell (guitarist)
Tom Maxwell (born June 25, 1968) is an American musician, best known as the rhythm guitarist of heavy metal supergroup Hellyeah and the lead guitarist of alternative metal band Knives Out!. Previous bands include Nothingface in which he was a founding member. After Nothingface, Maxwell was involved in a band with Skrape vocalist Billy Keeton. In the 1980s, he was in thrash metal band Have Mercy. His style of playing and writing relies more on grooves and hooks rather than shredding and fast soloing. Early life Maxwell was born on June 25, 1968 in Baltimore, Maryland. He got his first guitar, a 1969 Gibson Les Paul, when he was eight years old. According to Maxwell, he still owns it. Chad Gray (born October 16, 1971) is an American singer, best known as the lead vocalist of heavy metal bands Mudvayne and Hellyeah. Career Mudvayne Gray quit his factory job that paid $40,000 a year to move to Peoria, Illinois and formed Mudvayne. The band's first album, '' L.D. 50'', was released in 2000 to unexpected success, selling over half a million copies within a year of its release. Mudvayne went on to become one of the most successful heavy metal acts of the 2000s, and released four more studio albums—'' The End of All Things to Come'' (2002), ''Lost and Found'' (2005), '' The New Game'' (2008) and ''Mudvayne'' (2009)—before going on hiatus in 2010. Wall of Sound was an American music website that provided news, reviews and information on musical artists. The site was launched and developed in the mid-1990s by Paul Allen's software and website company, Starwave, in Seattle, Washington. In April 1997, Starwave entered into a joint venture partnership with ABC News, which expanded the coverage of the company's internet services into the ABC domain. A year later, Wall of Sound – along with Starwave sites such as Mr. Showbiz, NBA.com and NASCAR Online – was part of a joint e-commerce initiative between ABC and ESPN.
