Dale Weise
Dale Kenton Weise (born August 5, 1988) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey right winger. He played for the New York Rangers, Vancouver Canucks, Montreal Canadiens, Chicago Blackhawks, and Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected 111th overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by the New York Rangers. Playing career Junior Weise played three years of major junior ice hockey for the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League (WHL). During his rookie WHL season in 2005–06, he scored 18 points (four goals and 14 assists) over 53 games. He dressed in an addition four playoff games without recording a point as the Broncos were eliminated by the Medicine Hat Tigers. Red Lake Shootings
The Red Lake shootings were a spree killing that occurred on March 21, 2005, in two places on the Red Lake Indian Reservation in Red Lake, Minnesota, United States. That afternoon, 16-year-old Jeff Weise killed his grandfather (an Ojibwe tribal police sergeant) and his grandfather's girlfriend at their home. After taking his grandfather's police weapons and bulletproof vest, Weise drove his grandfather's police vehicle to Red Lake Senior High School, where he had been a student some months before. Weise shot and killed seven people at the school and wounded five others. The dead included an unarmed security guard at the entrance of the school, a teacher, and five students. After the police arrived, Weise exchanged gunfire with them. After being wounded, he shot and killed himself in a classroom. Jeff Weise
Jeffrey James Weise (August 8, 1988 – March 21, 2005) was an American student at Red Lake Senior High School in Red Lake, Minnesota, who committed the Red Lake shootings on March 21, 2005. He killed his grandfather and his grandfather's companion before going to the reservation high school, where he murdered seven more people and wounded five others. He died by suicide before he could be captured by the police. Weise struggled in school due to frequent relocations, bullying, disruptions in his personal life and truancy. In May and June 2004, Weise attempted suicide and was briefly hospitalized. He was under treatment for depression, and had been prescribed Prozac as an anti-depressant. His case revived the public discussion about the use of Prozac for children and adolescents; the Food and Drug Administration had published a warning about it in October 2004 as a factor in increased suicides and violence among youths. Arne Georg Fredrik Weise (28 February 1930 – 25 September 2019) was a Swedish journalist and television personality, one of the presenters for Sveriges Television (SVT). He worked at Sveriges Radio from 1952 and started working for SVT in 1979. Christian Weise (30 April 1642 – 21 October 1708), also known under the pseudonyms Siegmund Gleichviel, Orontes, Catharinus Civilis and Tarquinius Eatullus, was a German writer, dramatist, poet, pedagogue and librarian of the Baroque era. Martin Weise
Martin Weise (12 May 1903 in Torgau; 15 November 1943 in Brandenburg-Görden Prison) was a German journalist, member of the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) and a resistance fighter against the Nazis during World War II. From 1929 to 1934, Weiss published the socialist Die Rote Fahne newspaper. He was arrested and sent to a concentration camp until 1939. Julia Vargas-Weise (1942 – 1 April 2018) was a Bolivian photographer, screenwriter, educator, and film director. Biography Julia Vargas-Weise was born in Cochabamba in 1942. She trained professionally at the Ecole des Arts et Métiers in Vevey, Switzerland. She became known as the first female professional photographer in Bolivia. Agustín Saavedra Weise
Agustín Saavedra Weise (19 November 1943 – 26 December 2021) was a Bolivian diplomat and writer. He served as Ambassador to Switzerland and Argentina and ambassador-at-large in several foreign missions and was a foreign minister (1982). He wrote more than 10 books and hundreds of notes and articles. He was appointed the President of Central Bank of Bolivia in October 2020. Saavedra Weise died on 26 December 2021, at the age of 78. He specialised in Coleoptera, especially Chrysomelidae and Coccinellidae, and was one of the first entomologists to use genitalia to identify and classify species.
