Weightlifting At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's 59 Kg
The Women's 59 kg weightlifting competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo took place on 27 July at the Tokyo International Forum. This was the first ever 59 kg Olympic competition after the weight categories were reorganized in 2018. Kuo Hsing-chun set three Olympic records to win her first Olympic gold after her bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the 58 kg competition. Polina Guryeva won the silver medal, the first ever Olympic medal for Turkmenistan, and Mikiko Ando won the bronze for the host nation, her first Olympic medal. Tokyo International Forum
The is a multi-purpose exhibition center in Tokyo, Japan. The complex is generally considered to be in the Yūrakuchō business district, being adjacent to Yūrakuchō Station, but it is administratively in the Marunouchi district. Tokyo International Forum was built on the site of the Old City Hall, the former government headquarters which was relocated to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building in Nishi-Shinjuku. Izabella Yaylyan (born 4 January 1995) is an Armenian weightlifter. In 2021, she represented Armenia at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. She finished in 7th place in the women's 59kg event. She won the bronze medal in the women's 55kg event at the 2023 European Weightlifting Championships held in Yerevan, Armenia. Dora Meiriama Tchakounté (born 23 March 1995) is a French weightlifter born in Yaoundé, Cameroon. She won the silver medal in the women's 59kg event at the 2021 European Weightlifting Championships held in Moscow, Russia.
