Weightlifting At The 2012 Summer Olympics
Weightlifting competitions at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London were held from 28 July to 7 August in the ExCeL venue. Fifteen gold medals were awarded and 260 athletes took part (156 men and 104 women). ExCeL London
ExCeL London (an abbreviation for Exhibition Centre London) is an exhibition centre, international convention centre and former hospital in the Custom House area of Newham, East London. It is situated on a site on the northern quay of the Royal Victoria Dock in London Docklands, located between Canary Wharf and London City Airport History The centre was designed by Moxley Architects and built by Sir Robert McAlpine. He is a three-time Olympic champion and five-time world champion competing in the 77 kg category until 2018 and 81 kg starting in 2018 after the International Weightlifting Federation reorganized the categories. Behdad Salimi Kordasiabi ( fa, بهداد سلیمی كردآسیابی, born 8 December 1989) is former Iranian heavyweight weightlifter. Navab Nassirshalal (also spelled Nasirshelal, fa, نواب نصیرشلال, ; born 1 April 1989) is an Iranian retired weightlifter who won a gold medal in the men's 105 kg event at the 2012 Summer Olympics.
