Ymer Pampuri
Ymer Pampuri (30 April 1944 – 18 January 2017) was an Albanian weightlifter who in the 1972 Summer Olympic Games became the first Albanian to break an Olympic record, the first Albanian to become a World Champion and the last World Champion in military press, since the discipline was no longer allowed to be practiced internationally after 1972. Life and career Pampuri was born in Tirana. When he was seven years old he joined the Tirana Circus as an acrobat. In 1972 he was chosen to represent Albania in the European Championship in Romania. He lifted 125 kg, the same weight as the champion, but ended up second only losing by his body mass. In the same year he participated in the 1972 Summer Olympics. Mieczysław Nowak
Mieczysław Nowak (22 December 1936 – 17 May 2006) was a Polish featherweight weightlifter. He competed at the 1964, 1968 and 1972 Olympics and finished in third, fifth and seventh place, respectively. He won one gold (1970) and two silver medals (1965 and 1966) at world championships, and his Olympic bronze also counted as the world championships bronze in 1964. At the European championships, he won three gold (1965, 1966 and 1968), one silver (1970) and 1 bronze medals (1972). Nationally he won four titles (1965–1967, 1970) and set thirteen records.

Yoshinobu Miyake
is a retired Japanese weightlifter and Japan Ground Self-Defense Force Lieutenant. He won one silver and two gold medals at the 1960, 1964 and 1968 Olympics and finished fourth in 1972. He also won world titles in 1962, 1963 and 1965–66. Between 1959 and 1969 Miyake set 25 official world records, including 10 consecutive records in the snatch and nine consecutive records in the total. In 1993 he was inducted into the International Weightlifting Federation Hall of Fame. Miyake was known for his signature "frog style" or "Miyake pull" lifting technique, in which he kept his heels together with knees spread outward to about 60 degrees with a wide grip on the bar, resembling a frog. Norair Nurikyan
Norair Nurikyan ( bg, Норайр Нурикян, hy, Նորայր Նուրիկյան; born 26 July 1948) is a former Bulgarian weightlifter of Armenian descent. He is a two-time Olympic Champion and was awarded the Hero of Socialist Labor of Bulgaria and Order of the Bulgaria, First Degree titles. In 1994, Nurikyan was inducted into the International Weightlifting Federation Hall of Fame. Early life Norair was born in Sliven, Bulgaria to Armenian parents. His father was a baker and was very strong physically. Norair believed he inherited his father's strength. Like most Armenians in Sliven, Nurikyan took violin lessons. Clean & Jerk
The clean and jerk is a composite of two weightlifting movements, most often performed with a barbell: the clean and the jerk. During the ''clean'', the lifter moves the barbell from the floor to a racked position across the deltoids, without resting fully on the clavicles. During the ''jerk'', the lifter raises the barbell to a stationary position above the head, finishing with straight arms and legs, and the feet in the same plane as the torso and barbell. Of the several variants of the lift, the most common is the Olympic clean and jerk, which, with the snatch, is contested in Olympic weightlifting events. Clean To execute a ''clean'', a lifter grasps the barbell just outside the legs, typically using a hook grip.
