''Weight of the World'' is the third studio album by American punk band This Is Hell (band), This Is Hell and was released on June 8, 2010. The album is the band's first release through Rise Records since leaving Trustkill Records. ''Weight of the World'' was recorded in February 2010. The songs "Worship Syndrome" and "The Search" were previously released on This Is Hell's 2009 EP, ''Warbirds (EP), Warbirds''. One of the themes of ''Weight of the World'' is living life to its fullest potential and avoiding pressures to become "ideal." The opening track "No One Leaves Unscathed," is about following one's true passion, and not taking a 9 to 5 job just because "society tells us we need to." Professional wrestling, Professional wrestler Terry Funk partially influenced Rick Jiminez's lyrics on the song. This Is Hell is an American hardcore punk band from Long Island, New York. The band is known for extensive touring and high energy concerts. They have released five studio albums and five EPs. History Early days and formation (2004) This Is Hell formed in June 2004 when Long Island musicians and members of The Backup Plan, Scraps and Heart Attacks, and Subterfuge got together after their previous bands broke up. The name of the band was originally the title of an Elvis Costello song. The band quickly released a four-song self titled demo EP which was later pressed onto vinyl via Boston label Run for Cover Records and in Europe via Broken Glasses Records. Professional wrestling is a form of theater that revolves around staged wrestling matches. Hardcore punk (also known as simply hardcore) is a punk rock music genre and subculture that originated in the late 1970s. It is generally faster, harder, and more aggressive than other forms of punk rock. Its roots can be traced to earlier punk scenes in San Francisco and Punk rock in California, Southern California which arose as a reaction against the still predominant History of the hippie movement, hippie cultural climate of the time. Trustkill Records was an American independent record label that started as a hardcore punk fanzine in April 1993. It started releasing hardcore, metal and rock records and merchandise in 1994. In 2010, the president of Trustkill, Josh Grabelle, formed a new label called Bullet Tooth Records. Distribution On January 9, 2007, Trustkill signed a deal for exclusive distribution in North America with Fontana Distribution, which is under the Universal Music Group umbrella.
