Weekly Manga Times
is a Japanese weekly seinen manga magazine published by Houbunsha since November 1956. The publisher claims it was Japan’s first weekly manga magazine, and the magazine is published every Friday. While its name resembles that of its sister magazine ''Manga Time'', it does not publish yonkoma manga. The magazine is also known by the nickname , and uses the slogan . ''Manga Times'' has a weekly circulation of about 380,000. ''Weekly Manga Times'' became known as one of the big three weekly manga magazines along with ''Weekly Manga Goraku'', published by Nihon Bungeisha, and ''Manga Sunday'', published by Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha. From 1969 until 1980, the magazine advertised on the outfield fence at Meiji Jingu Stadium. Seinen Manga
is an editorial category of Japanese comics marketed toward young adult men. In Japanese, the word ''seinen'' literally means "youth", but the term "''seinen'' manga" is also used to describe the target audience of magazines like ''Weekly Manga Times'' and ''Weekly Manga Goraku'' which cater specifically to men's interests, and are marketed towards a demographic of young adult men between the ages of 18 and 40. Kura No Yado
Rúben de Almeida Barbeiro (born August 21, 1987 in Leiria), better known as KURA, is a Portuguese electro house music DJ and producer. Kura has released tracks through labels such as Hardwell's Revealed Recordings, Flashover Recordings, Musical Freedom, Spinnin' Records, among others. Ryō Kurashina
The was a gold currency unit in the shakkanhō system in pre- Meiji Japan. It was eventually replaced with a system based on the ''yen''. Origins The ''ryō'' was originally a unit of weight from China, the ''tael.'' It came into use in Japan during the Kamakura period. By the Azuchi–Momoyama period it had become nearly uniform throughout Japan, about 4.4 ''monme'' as a unit of weight (about the same as 16.5 grams). Takao Saito
was a Japanese manga artist, although he rejected the term and considered his work gekiga. He was best known for '' Golgo 13'', which has been serialized in ''Big Comic'' since 1968, making it the oldest manga still in publication. ''Golgo 13'' holds the Guinness World Record for "Most volumes published for a single manga series" and, in accordance with Saito's wishes, it continues to be serialized following his death from pancreatic cancer in September 2021. Takashi Fukutani
Takashi Fukutani (; February 4, 1952 – September 9, 2000) was a Japanese manga artist. He is best known for his manga series '' Dokudami Tenement''. Early life and career Fukutani was born in the Saidaiji area of Okayama and was raised by his father, a strict military veteran, after his parents divorced. His father died when he was 15, and he lived an unhappy life with his stepmother. By the age of 16 he was placed on juvenile probation following arrests for drug use and other petty crime. Upon turning 18, he went in search of his birth mother, and eventually settled in Tokyo. After a series of low-paying jobs, Fukutani applied for a position as an assistant to Yukichi Yamamatsu ( jp). Dokudami Tenement
is a Japanese gekiga manga series written and illustrated by Takashi Fukutani. Description Initially serialized in Japanese in the pages of ''Weekly Manga Times'' from May 18, 1979 until April 2, 1993, the work was hugely popular and subsequently collected into 35 volumes by the Japanese publisher Houbunsha. Total sales of Dokudami Tenement are recorded at 5 million copies. The series is currently out of print, however e-book volumes have been published.
