''Weed Bus'' was the first ep released by Liverpool band The Stairs The Stairs are an English rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1990 by vocalist and bassist Edgar "Summertyme" Jones, guitarist Ged Lynn and drummer Paul Maguire. The band released one album and a handful of singles, prior to Lynn's departure i .... The ep was issued in several formats: CD ep; 7" vinyl single; 12" vinyl 45rpm single with picture sleeve; 12" 45rpm vinyl DJ promo single with a plain black sleeve. The matrix of Side A on the 7" vinyl single has ''Mexican R'N'B'' inscribed on it, while Side B has ''Goodbye Sister Disco'' inscribed. Both 12" vinyl single formats have ''Don't mess with the Tank'' inscribed in the matrix on Side A, and ''Dave Quicksilver and The Blues Messengers'' inscribed on Side B. The Stairs
The Stairs are an English rock band, formed in Liverpool in 1990 by vocalist and bassist Edgar "Summertyme" Jones, guitarist Ged Lynn and drummer Paul Maguire. The band released one album and a handful of singles, prior to Lynn's departure in 1993 and their eventual split the following year. The Stairs reformed in 2015, playing a one-off gig at The Kazimier in Liverpool before announcing a 2016 UK tour and headline appearance at the Le Beat Bespoké festival in London. History Following a stint as bassist with Echo & The Bunnymen frontman Ian McCulloch, Edgar Jones set about forming a Nuggets/ Pebbles style band, influenced by the likes of The 13th Floor Elevators, The Seeds, The Chocolate Watch Band as well as The Beatles and The Rolling Stones. Go! Discs
Go! Discs was a London-based record label, launched in 1983 from offices in Wendell Road, Shepherd's Bush, by Andy Macdonald and Lesley Symons. The pair founded the label after Macdonald left his job as press officer at Stiff Records, and Symons provided the seed funding. The first signing to the label was Billy Bragg and early releases also came from Sheffield band The Box and Hull band The Housemartins. Records by the latter's spin-off group The Beautiful South were subsequently issued. Key staff contributors, following a move to Hammersmith, included comedian Phill Jupitus and Cathal Smyth (Madness' Chas Smash). Go! Beat Records was launched as a subsidiary for artists like Beats International, Gabrielle and Portishead. In 1992, Paul Weller signed for the main Go! Discs label.
