Wee Siew Kim
Wee Siew Kim ( zh, s=黃守金, p=Huáng Shǒujīn, born 19 August 1960) is a Singaporean former politician. A member of the People's Action Party, he was a Member of the Parliament of Singapore representing the Ang Mo Kio Group Representation Constituency (Jalan Kayu) from 25 October 2001 to 19 April 2011. Wee was educated at Raffles Institution, followed by the Imperial College of Science and Technology in London Bachelor of Science (Aeronautical Engineering) (Hons), followed by an MBA at Stanford University. Currently, he is a member of the board of directors (non-executive & independent) of SBS Transit. He is also Director of Changi Airports International Pte Ltd. He is currently Group CEO, NIPSEA Group of Companies. Wee was previously the deputy CEO (Aerospace and Marine) and concurrent president, Defence Business of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd. People's Action Party
The People's Action Party (abbreviation: PAP) is a major conservative centre-right political party in Singapore and is one of the three contemporary political parties represented in Parliament, alongside the opposition Workers' Party (WP) and Progress Singapore Party (PSP). Initially founded as a traditional centre-left party in 1954, the leftist faction was soon expelled from the party in 1961 by Lee Kuan Yew in the midst of Singapore's merger with Malaysia, desiring to move the party's ideology towards the centre after its first electoral victory in 1959.
