''Wedding Day'' was one of the earliest Australian television series. It aired from 1956 to 1957 on HSV-7 at 9:30pm for a total of 39 weeks, and is notable as it was produced by Crawford Productions. It was a game show, in which the contestants were a couple who had just got married. The archival status of the series is not confirmed. Crawford Productions is an Australian media production company, focused on radio and television production. Founded in Melbourne by Hector Crawford and his sister, actress and voice artist Dorothy Crawford, the company, also known as Crawfords Australia, is now a subsidiary of the WIN Corporation. HSV (TV Station)
HSV is a television station in Melbourne, Australia. It is part of the Seven Network, one of the three main commercial television networks in Australia, its first and oldest station. It launched in time for the 1956 Summer Olympic Games in Melbourne. HSV-7 is the home of AFL coverage. The HSV building (also known as 'Broadcast Centre Melbourne') was the network's operations hub, where the Master Control Room was located, controlling all metropolitan and regional feeds. Programming lineup, advertisement output, feed switching, time zone monitoring and national transmission output was previously delivered there. All Seven Network owned and operated studios had their live signals relayed there: for instance, ATN's output was fed to HSV and then transmitted via satellite or fibre optics to towers around metropolitan Sydney. ''The Pressure Pak Show'' is an Australian television game show. It first aired from 1957 to 1958 on ATN-7 in Sydney and GTV-9 in Melbourne. It was hosted by Jack Davey, who also hosted ''The Dulux Show'' and ''Give it a Go''. The program was a simulcast of a long-running Jack Davey radio programs, broadcast on the Macquarie Radio Network. Gameplay According to the National Film and Sound Archive website, it was a guessing game in which the panel and contestants had to determine what phrase the host had picked, within a certain amount of time. ''Give It a Go'' was an Australian television game show which aired in 1957. It was hosted by Jack Davey, who also hosted two other Australian game shows during the late-1950s, ''The Dulux Show'' and ''The Pressure Pak Show'', and was produced by Sydney station ATN-7 also airing in Melbourne on station GTV-9. It was sponsored by Persil, a laundry detergent. At least 16 kinescope recordings exist of the series at the National Film and Sound Archive, along with copies of a radio simulcast broadcast over the Macquarie Broadcasting Network. The radio version had been going for many years prior to the simulcast. All of the programs mentioned above were simulcasts of long-running Jack Davey radio programs, broadcast on the Macquarie Radio Network. ''The Dulux Show'' was an Australian television game show which aired in 1957. It was hosted by Jack Davey, and produced by Sydney station ATN-7, also airing in Melbourne on station GTV-9.
