History The firm was founded by Scott Thompson, Blaine Weber, and Jeffrey Hamlett in 1987 as Weber Thompson Hamlett Architects. ''Interior Design'' is an American interior design magazine, which has been in circulation since 1932. History and profile ''Interior Design'' was founded by Harry V. Anderson in Manhattan in 1932. He was also the publisher and editor of the magazine, which temporarily ceased publication during World War II. Following the war Anderson and John Hay Whitney of Whitney Communications Company relaunched the magazine. In 1959 the company became the sole owner of ''Interior Design''. Harry V. Anderson served as the editor and publisher until 1969. The other editors have included Donald D. Macmillan; Sherman R. Emery, from 1960 to 1983; and Stanley Abercrombie. Ava (stylized as AVA) is a proposed residential skyscraper in Seattle, Washington, United States. The 48-story mixed-use building would have 395 residential units, 178 hotel rooms, ground level retail, and underground parking for 375 vehicles. It would be located at Pine Street and 8th Avenue in Downtown Seattle. The building was initially proposed in 2007 by the Fana Group of Companies as a 39-story, hotel and condominium tower. The plan, designed by Weber Thompson, called for a luxury hotel on floors 10 through 17, with 200 condominiums comprising the upper floors. Yesler Terrace is a public housing development in Seattle, Washington, United States. It was completed in 1941 as the state's first public housing development and the first racially integrated public housing development in the United States. It occupies much of the area formerly known as Yesler Hill, Yesler's Hill, or Profanity Hill. The development is administered by the Seattle Housing Authority, who have been redeveloping the neighborhood into a mixed-income area with multi-story buildings and community amenities since 2013. Helios, also known as 2nd & Pine, is a residential skyscraper in downtown Seattle, Washington. The 40-story tower is tall with 398 luxury apartments. Plans for the project were first proposed in 2013 and construction began in late 2014. It is located at the intersection of 2nd Avenue and Pine Street near the Pike Place Market and the city's retail core. Architects Weber Thompson and GBD Architects, working on the project in a joint venture, described the tower's design as "slender and sculpted". It sits atop a podium, housing of retail space, with a terra-cotta facade. The building also includes Zipcar parking spaces, electric vehicle charging stations, bicycle parking, low-energy appliances, and other environmentally-friendly features in a bid to earn a LEED rating. Stratus is a residential high-rise building in Seattle, Washington. The 43-story skyscraper, located in the Denny Triangle neighborhood, was completed in 2017, with 396 apartments and ground-floor retail space. Stratus is located across the street from Cirrus, another apartment building developed by GID that opened in 2015. Both buildings, designed by Weber Thompson, are named after cloud types stratus and cirrus, respectively. History GID Development Group bought the 9th and Lenora site from Cornish College of the Arts in 2014 for $16 million. Kiara (also known as 970 Denny Way) is a residential skyscraper in Seattle, Washington. The 40-story, tower has 461 apartments and was completed in 2018. It is first skyscraper in the South Lake Union neighborhood and is one of the few highrise buildings outside the traditional boundaries of Downtown Seattle. The building is located at the intersection of Denny Way and Terry Avenue, near the headquarters of ''The Seattle Times'' and the Cornish College of the Arts. Kiara is owned by Pontegadea, who acquired the building in 2022. Arrivé ( ) is a , 41-story skyscraper in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. The $190 million project, originally named Potala Tower after the Potala Palace in Tibet, was designed by Weber Thompson and consists of 342 apartments and a 142-room hotel. It was financed partially by Chinese nationals through the EB-5 visa program and began construction in April 2015. Construction was put on hold in August 2015, when the assets of project developer Lobsang Dargey were frozen by a court order after a civil fraud suit by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The SEC alleges that Dargey diverted funds from the project for his own personal uses, including the purchase of his Bellevue home and gambling. The project was then transferred to a court-appointed receiver and later stripped of its EB-5 eligibility.
