Wear My Hat
"Wear My Hat" is a song by English drummer Phil Collins released as the fourth single from his album ''Dance into the Light''. It was only released in the United Kingdom and peaked at #43 on the UK Singles Chart. Collins said in an interview that the song and its music video is about the pressures of fame and how some fans grow an attachment to their favourite stars. The video for the song featured actor Danny DeVito. The song was played throughout the Trip into the Light World Tour and on the First Final Farewell Tour. A live performance of the song was also recorded for ''Top of the Pops''. However it was not aired (at the time) most likely due to its very low charting position, but it was then shown in full on an episode of '' Top of the Pops 2'' several years later. Philip David Charles Collins (born 30 January 1951) is an English singer, musician, songwriter, record producer and actor. He was the drummer and lead singer of the rock band Genesis and also has a career as a solo performer. Between 1982 and 1990, Collins scored three UK and seven US number-one singles as a solo artist. When his work with Genesis, his work with other artists, as well as his solo career is totalled, he had more US top 40 singles than any other artist during the 1980s. Daryl Mark Stuermer (born November 27, 1952) is an American musician, songwriter, and producer best known for playing the guitar and bass for Genesis during live shows, and lead guitar for Phil Collins during most solo tours and albums. He has also released nine solo albums, and tours with his Daryl Stuermer Band. Early life Stuermer was born on November 27, 1952, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He cites Duane, his elder brother of two years, also a musician, who introduced him to music by Elvis Presley and Ray Charles. As a youngster he became a fan of the instrumental rock band The Ventures, which "really got me going". He began to play the guitar at age eleven, and moved into jazz guitar four years later. Harry Kim is an American musician born and raised in New York City. He is best known as a member of the Phenix Horns, the celebrated horn section of Earth, Wind and Fire, as well as for his long association with Phil Collins. Biography Kim was born and raised in New York City, where he attended the High School for the Performing Arts and prepared for a career as a classical trumpeter. After high school, Kim relocated to Los Angeles, where he discovered an interest in the world of funk and jazz. He toured throughout the United States for a few years with various show groups, R&B revues, and big bands, including the Harry James Big Band, before returning to Los Angeles to further his career. Andrew Woolfolk
Andrew Paul Woolfolk II (October 11, 1950 – April 24, 2022) was an American saxophonist. Woolfolk was a longtime member of the band Earth, Wind & Fire from 1973 to 1985, and from 1987 to 1993. He also collaborated with artists such as Deniece Williams, Stanley Turrentine, Phil Collins, Twennynine, Philip Bailey, and Level 42. Biography Woolfolk attended East High School in Denver, Colorado. In 1972 he joined the band Earth, Wind & Fire as a saxophonist and became a longstanding member. Woolfolk was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Earth, Wind & Fire in 2000. In 2017, Woolfolk was inducted into the Colorado Music Hall of Fame. Woolfolk died on April 24, 2022, after a long illness. Arnold McCuller (born August 26, 1950) is an American vocalist, songwriter, and record producer, born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. He was active as a solo artist and session musician, but is perhaps best known for his work as a touring back-up singer with artists such as James Taylor, Linda Ronstadt, Phil Collins, Beck, Bonnie Raitt, and Todd Rundgren.
