''We Go Way Back'' is a 2006 American film directed and written by Lynn Shelton and starring Aaron Blakely, Maggie Brown, Basil Harris, Amber Hubert and Robert Wright. Plot A young woman who has just been offered her first leading role as an actress is confronted by the specter of her thirteen-year-old self. Lynn Shelton (August 27, 1965 – May 16, 2020) was an American filmmaker, known for writing, directing, and producing such films as ''Humpday'' and ''Your Sister's Sister''. She was associated with the mumblecore genre. Early life Shelton was born in Oberlin, Ohio, and raised in Seattle, Washington. She described herself as having been audacious as a young girl, but having lost confidence in her creativity in adolescence. This experience contributed to a theme she explored in her 2005 film ''We Go Way Back''. Shelton attended Garfield High School (Seattle), Garfield High School. After high school, Shelton attended Oberlin College in Ohio and then the University of Washington School of Drama. Laura Pauline Veirs (born October 24, 1973) is an American singer-songwriter based out of Portland, Oregon. She is known for her folk/alternative country records and live performances as well as her collaboration with Neko Case and k.d. lang on the case/lang/veirs project.
