We Are The People Party
The We Are the People Party, also translated as the We are Egypt Party, is a political party that is made up of 270 former members of parliament. The party was formed by the Coalition of the People's Representatives, which is composed of former members of the National Democratic Party, which was formerly the ruling party of Egypt. The party was formerly known as the Egyptian Street Party. The party seeks to obtain a majority of the seats in the 2015 parliamentary election. The party prohibits Islamists and people who were involved in corruption from being involved in the party. The Call of Egypt ( ar-at, نداء مصر, Nidaa Masr) is an electoral alliance in Egypt that competed in the 2015 Egyptian parliamentary election. The House of Representatives ( ar, مجلس النواب, Maglis El Nowwab) is the lower house of Egypt's bicameral parliament. Formation of the House The 2014 constitution that was passed in the 2014 constitutional referendum has put into place the following rules: the House that is elected following the ratification of the constitution must have at least 450 members. In addition, prospective members must be Egyptian, must be at least 25 years old and must hold an education certificate. Also, the president can appoint, at the most, five percent of the members in the chamber. The House sits for a five-year term but can be dissolved earlier by the president. The Coalition of the People's Representatives, or the Parliamentarians is a former electoral alliance in Egypt; members of the alliance have created the We Are the People Party. The coalition was formed by former members of the National Democratic Party. Egyptian parliamentary elections to the House of Representatives were held in two phases, from 17 October to 2 December 2015.
