Wayne Township is one of thirteen townships in Butler County, Ohio, United States. The township is located in the north-central part of the county, between Trenton and Oxford. It had a total population of 4,375 at the 2020 census. History Wayne was the sixth township of the county, erected from St. Clair Township by the Butler County Commissioners on December 2, 1805. Name Named for General Anthony Wayne, it is one of twenty Wayne Townships in Ohio. State Route 122 (SR 122) is an Ohio state highway which runs from the Ohio-Indiana state line in Preble County east of Eaton, Ohio to SR 48 near Lebanon, Ohio, a distance of . When the route was designated in 1923, it ran along its current route from Indiana to Middletown. It was extended to its current eastern terminus in 1937 but was extended further east to U.S. Route 42 in 1946. Middletown, Ohio
Middletown is a city located in Butler and Warren counties in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Ohio, about 35 miles (47 km) north of Cincinnati. The population as of the 2020 census was 50,987. It is part of the Cincinnati metropolitan area. Formerly in Lemon, Turtlecreek, and Franklin townships, Middletown was incorporated by the Ohio General Assembly on February 11, 1833, and became a city in 1886. The city was the home of AK Steel Holding Corporation (formerly Armco), a major steel works founded in 1900. Although offices were moved to nearby West Chester Township in 2007, the AK Steel factory is still in Middletown. State Route 73 (SR 73) is an east–west state highway in the southern portion of the U.S. state of Ohio. Its western terminus is on U.S. Route 27 in Oxford at the intersection of SR 732. SR 73’s eastern terminus is in Portsmouth at US 23; this is also the southern terminus of SR 104, and the two state routes run concurrently for over from this point north. Eaton is a city in, and the county seat of Preble County, Ohio, United States, approximately 24 mi (38 km) west of Dayton. The population was 8,375 at the 2020 census, down 0.4% from the population of 8,407 at the 2010 census. Eaton's sister city is Rödental bei Coburg (Germany). History Eaton was founded and platted in 1806 by William Bruce. The village derives its name from Gen. William Eaton (1764–1811), the U.S. Consul at Tunis, who led a diverse army in a harrowing march from Egypt to Tripoli to meet the U.S. Naval forces. Seven Mile, Ohio
Seven Mile is a village in Butler County, Ohio, United States. The population was 712 at the 2020 census. Seven Mile is served by Edgewood Local School District. Seven Mile Elementary School is the only school located within the village limits. History 230 years ago, On October 6, 1791, 2,200 troops marched to the area and encamped in the bottom on the east side of the creek. The area was then called Seven Mile after the creek name. The Indian name for Seven Mile Creek was Watamaw, meaning shining water. Seven Mile was laid out on a turnpike in 1841. It took its name from nearby Sevenmile Creek. Seven Mile was incorporated as a village in 1875. In 1905, Seven Mile contained a hotel, a harness shop, a tin shop, meat store, and a mill. Milford Township, one of thirteen townships in the county, is located in north-central Butler County, Ohio, United States, between Oxford and Middletown. The township had a population of 3,550 at the 2010 census, up from 3,254 in 2000. Excluding the now-defunct village of Somerville, 3,269 people lived in the unincorporated part of the township.
