Wayne Primmer
Wayne Primmer (born 9 January 1959) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played with Essendon in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and West Torrens in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). Recruited from Woomelang, Primmer was a rover and had a particularly strong season in 1978, where he kicked 24 goals in his first six appearances that year, with seven goal hauls against South Melbourne, Carlton and Richmond. By the end of the season he had amassed 47 goals, which were enough to top Essendon's goal-kicking. Primmer transferred to SANFL club West Torrens for the 1980 season, then to Mid-Murray Football League club Lalbert, in 1981 and 1982, the first as captain-coach. In 1983 he joined Hamilton as captain-coach and from 1984 to 1987 he played with Benalla, captain-coaching them in every year except 1986. Essendon Football Club
The Essendon Football Club, nicknamed the Bombers, is a professional Australian rules football club. The club plays in the Australian Football League (AFL), the game's premier competition. The club was formed by the McCracken family in their Ascot Vale, Victoria, Ascot Vale home "Alisa", and while the exact date is unknown, it is generally accepted to have been in 1872. The club’s first recorded game took place on 7 June 1873 against a Carlton Second 20. From 1878 until 1896, the club played in the Victorian Football Association then joined seven other clubs in October 1896 to form the breakaway Victorian Football League (later changed to AFL in 1990). The Ovens & King Football Netball League is a minor country Australian rules football league based in North-Eastern Victoria in the vicinity of Wangaratta and more recently Benalla. History The ''Ovens & King Football League'' was formed on the 13th of June 1903, after a handful of men met at The Bulls Head Hotel in Wangaratta to consider forming a football competition. One week later, the first matches of the Ovens & King Football Association were played. The competition changed its name to the Ovens and King Football League after the 1928 season. Today, more than 100 years later, teams from Benalla, Bright, Greta, King Valley, Milawa, Moyhu, North Wangaratta, Tarrawingee and Whorouly participate in seniors, reserves and five netball grades. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind").
