Wayne McKoy
Wayne McKoy (born March 26, 1958) is an American former professional basketball player. He was a highly-recruited high school player during his career at Long Island Lutheran in Brookville, New York, and earned comparisons to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. McKoy played college basketball for the St. John's Redmen from 1977 to 1981 and was a two-time All-Big East Conference selection. He was drafted by his hometown New York Knicks but never played in the National Basketball Association (NBA) and instead spent his three-year professional career in Spain. Early life McKoy was born on March 26, 1958, in Elizabethtown, North Carolina. He did not know his birth father, and his birth mother abandoned him as an infant to her sister, Beatrice Wooten. Elizabethtown is a town in Bladen County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 3,583 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Bladen County. The 1981 NBA draft was the 35th annual draft of the National Basketball Association (NBA). The draft was held on June 9, 1981, before the 1981–82 season. The draft was broadcast in the United States on the USA Network. In this draft, 23 NBA teams took turns selecting amateur U.S. college basketball players and other eligible players, including international players. The first two picks in the draft belonged to the teams that finished last in each conference, with the order determined by a coin flip. Willis Reed
Willis Reed Jr. (born June 25, 1942) is an American retired basketball player, coach and general manager. He spent his entire professional playing career (1964–1974) with the New York Knicks. In 1982, Reed was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. In 1996, he was voted one of the " 50 Greatest Players in NBA History". In October 2021, Reed was again honored as one of the league's greatest players of all-time by being named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team. The Penn Quakers men's basketball team is the college basketball program representing the University of Pennsylvania.
