Wayne Howard (American Football)
''For the American comic book artist, see Wayne Howard.'' Wayne Howard (born April 30, 1931) is a former American football coach. He was head coach at UC Riverside Highlanders football, UC Riverside from 1972 to 1973, Long Beach State 49ers football, Long Beach State from 1974 to 1976 and Utah Utes football, Utah from 1977 to 1981. He had a career college football record of 70–37–2. Early life A native of Denver, Howard attended Jordan High School (Long Beach, California), Jordan High School in Long Beach, California before transferring in his senior year to Chaffey High School in Ontario, California, from which he graduated in 1948. He played college baseball at the University of Redlands in Redlands, California, graduating in 1957 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Marc Douglas Wilson (born February 15, 1957) is an American former football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 10 seasons, primarily with the Raiders franchise. He played college football at BYU, where he set the NCAA record for passing yards and won the Sammy Baugh Trophy. Selected by the Raiders in the first round of the 1980 NFL Draft, Wilson spent seven seasons with the team during their Oakland and Los Angeles tenure. Reuben LaVell Edwards (October 11, 1930 – December 29, 2016) was an American football head coach for Brigham Young University (BYU). With 257 career victories, he ranks as one of the most successful college football coaches of all time. Among his many notable accomplishments, Edwards guided BYU to a national championship in 1984 and coached Heisman Trophy winner Ty Detmer in 1990. Edwards played football for Utah State University and earned a master's degree prior to coaching at BYU, where he also earned his doctorate. The Western Athletic Conference (WAC) is an NCAA Division I conference. The WAC covers a broad expanse of the western United States with member institutions located in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Utah, Washington (state), Washington, and Texas. Chuck Stobart
Charles R. Stobart (October 27, 1932 – November 29, 2022) was an American college football player and coach. He played as a quarterback at Ohio University in the 1950s. He was a football coach at various schools for 42 years from 1959 to 2000, including 36 consecutive seasons as a coach at Division I collegiate programs. Stobart began his coaching career in 1959 as a high school coach in Ohio.
