Wayne Davis (hurdler)
Wayne Courtney Davis II (born August 22, 1991) is an American athlete, now representing Trinidad and Tobago, who specializes in the 110 metre hurdles. He currently holds the world youth record, world junior record and the US high school record in the 39" 110 m hurdles with a time of 13.08 seconds. He is a graduate of Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School in Raleigh, North Carolina. Career Davis broke the World Youth 110 hurdles record (36") on July 12, 2007, at the 2007 World Youth Championships in Athletics in Ostrava, Czech Republic. Two years later, on July 31, 2009, he broke the World Junior 110 m hurdles record (39") at the 2009 Pan American Junior Athletics Championships in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad beating the previous mark of 13.12 seconds set by 2004 Olympic gold medalist Liu Xiang in 2002. DyeStat was a website self-described as "The Internet Home of High School Track & Field". It was founded in 1998 by John Dye, and featured his wife (Donna Dye) as the features editor, senior editor Steve Underwood, assistant editor Dave Devine, two California co-editors (Rich Gonzalez, Doug Speck) and one business/marketing manager (Kirsten Leetch). The site listed many of the best times for both Cross Country and Track & Field on the high school level, while also covering most state and national championships. It was often used as a source for ranking and other statistics by journalists. DyeStat also featured forums for athletes to discuss running. ESPN acquired DyeStat in 2008, but later shut it down when it got rid of its high school division in 2012. Liu Xiang (; born July 13, 1983) is a Chinese former 110 meter hurdler. Liu is an Olympic Gold medalist and World Champion. His 2004 Olympic gold medal was the first in a men's track and field event for China. Liu is one of China's most successful athletes and has emerged as a cultural icon.
