Wayne Bulpitt
Wayne Bulpitt, Order of the British Empire, CBE (born June 1961) was the UK Chief Commissioner for The Scout Association from 2009 until 2016. Life Wayne Bulpitt was born in June 1961 and has lived in Guernsey since 1983. In 1988 he married his wife Julie, with whom he has two children. Career Bulpitt founded a financial service consulting company, Active Group, in 2001. He is involved with a number of other companies that deal with financial services and investments. Scouting In 2009 Bulpitt became the first UK Chief Commissioner of The Scout Association. This was a new role in Scouting after altering the original Chief Scout (The Scout Association), Chief Scout role to become more focused on the promotion of scouting, leaving the managerial role to the UK Chief Commissioner. Order Of The British Empire
The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding contributions to the arts and sciences, work with charitable and welfare organisations, and public service outside the civil service. It was established on 4 June 1917 by King George V and comprises five classes across both civil and military divisions, the most senior two of which make the recipient either a knight if male or dame if female. There is also the related British Empire Medal, whose recipients are affiliated with, but not members of, the order. Recommendations for appointments to the Order of the British Empire were originally made on the nomination of the United Kingdom, the self-governing Dominions of the Empire (later Commonwealth) and the Viceroy of India. The Order of CúChulainn is the highest award for adults in Scouting Ireland. History It was introduced in 2004 to replace Scouting Ireland (CSI)'s ''Order of the Silver Wolfhound'' and the equivalent award of Scouting Ireland S.A.I., the ''Order of the Silver Elk''. The first awards were presented at Larch Hill with all those who held the highest award of the previous associations being invested as Honorary Members of the Order of CúChulainn by Martin Burbridge, the Chief Scout. Cork City
Cork ( , from , meaning 'marsh') is the second largest city in Ireland and third largest city by population on the island of Ireland. It is located in the south-west of Ireland, in the province of Munster. Following an extension to the city's boundary in 2019, its population is over 222,000. The city centre is an island positioned between two channels of the River Lee which meet downstream at the eastern end of the city centre, where the quays and docks along the river lead outwards towards Lough Mahon and Cork Harbour, one of the largest natural harbours in the world.
