Wayne Andersen
Wayne Robert Andersen (born July 30, 1945) is a former United States district judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. Education and career Born in Chicago, Illinois, Andersen received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard University in 1967 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1970. Andersen was captain of the track team at Harvard and co-holds the team record in the 100-yard dash. He was an administrative assistant to Majority Leader Henry Hyde in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1970 to 1972. Andersen then entered private practice in Chicago until 1980. He was a deputy secretary of state of Illinois, Office of Secretary of State Jim Edgar from 1981 to 1984. The United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois (in case citations, N.D. Ill.) is the federal trial-level court with jurisdiction over the northern counties of Illinois. Appeals from the Northern District of Illinois are taken to the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit (except for patent claims and claims against the U.S. government under the Tucker Act, which are appealed to the Federal Circuit). James Edgar (born July 22, 1946) is an American politician who was the 38th governor of Illinois from 1991 to 1999. Previously he served as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives from 1976 to 1979 and as Illinois Secretary of State from 1981 to 1991. Henry John Hyde (April 18, 1924 – November 29, 2007) was an American politician who served as a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from 1975 to 2007, representing the 6th District of Illinois, an area of Chicago's northwestern suburbs. He was Chairman of the Judiciary Committee from 1995 to 2001, and the House International Relations Committee from 2001 to 2007.
