Perth
Perth is the capital and largest city of the Australian state of Western Australia. It is the fourth most populous city in Australia and Oceania, with a population of 2.1 million (80% of the state) living in Greater Perth in 2020. Perth is part of the South West Land Division of Western Australia, with most of the metropolitan area on the Swan Coastal Plain between the Indian Ocean and the Darling Scarp. The city has expanded outward from the original British settlements on the Swan River, upon which the city's central business district and port of Fremantle are situated. Nikola Stamenić
Nikola Stamenić ( sr-Cyrl, Никола Стаменић; born 17 April 1949), also known as "The General", is a Serbian water polo coach widely considered one of the greatest coaches in water polo history. Under his guidance, Yugoslavia men's national water polo team won the gold medal in both the 1991 World Championship in Perth and the 1991 European Championship in Athens, becoming World and European Champions in the same year. At club level he successfully coached (most notably) Olympiacos, Crvena Zvezda, Partizan, Bečej and Marseille. Playing career Stamenić was born in Belgrade, Serbia, SFR Yugoslavia. He played water polo most notably for Partizan Belgrade, where he won two back-to-back European Champions Cups in 1975 and 1976 under the guidance of coach Vlaho Orlić. Jordi "Chiqui" Sans Juan (born August 3, 1965 in Barcelona, Catalonia) is a former water polo player from Spain, who was a member of the national team that won the gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, United States. Four years earlier, when his home town of Barcelona hosted the Games, he was on the side that captured the silver medal. Sans played in five consecutive Summer Olympics for his native country from 1984 to 2000. He is, jointly with Greek Georgios Mavrotas, the fifth athlete to compete in water polo at five Olympics, after Briton Paul Radmilovic, Hungarian Dezső Gyarmati, Italian Gianni De Magistris, and fellow Spaniard Manuel Estiarte. Jesús Miguel Rollán Prada (4 April 1968 – 11 March 2006) was a water polo goalkeeper from Spain who was a member of the national team that won the gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. Four years earlier, when Barcelona hosted the Summer Olympics, he was on the squad that captured the silver medal. Born in Madrid, Rollán competed in five Summer Olympics, starting in 1988. He is among four Spanish water polo players, all in the 1992 and 1996 medal winning teams, to have competed at five Olympics, the others being Manuel Estiarte, Chiqui Sans and Chava Gomez. Rollán is the first water polo goalkeeper of either gender to compete at five Olympics. He was also known as a close friend of Infanta Cristina, whom he introduced to her future husband Iñaki Urdangarin.
