Water Street, Milwaukee
Water Street is a prominent historic street and entertainment district in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. It is the site of the city's original building, City Hall, and multiple historic landmarks. Today it is still the major north–south road running through downtown and is home to Milwaukee's Theater District, Water Street Entertainment District, and much of the city's political activity. History and historic buildings The intersection of E. Wisconsin Ave. and N. Water St. is the original building site in the city. What is now the 100 East Wisconsin building was once the site where Henry Vieau, Milwaukee's first white settler, built his cabin in the early 1800s. Milwaukee Theatre
Miller High Life Theatre (previously Milwaukee Theatre and originally Milwaukee Auditorium) is a theatre located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The building was extensively renovated between 2001 and 2003, at which point its name changed to the Milwaukee Theatre. A naming rights deal changed its name in 2017 to the Miller High Life Theatre. It seats 4,086 people and can be configured into a more intimate venue that seats 2,500. It is located at 500 W. Kilbourn Avenue in downtown Milwaukee. Milwaukee Auditorium The Milwaukee Auditorium was built in 1909, in a place formerly occupied by the Milwaukee Industrial Exposition Building, which had been destroyed by fire in 1905. ''Food Wars'' was a weekly Travel Channel series hosted by Camille Ford that debuted on Tuesday, March 9, 2010. The show featured restaurant rivalries in cities around the United States, with loyal fans cheering for one of two restaurants that serve one of the city's signature dishes. A blind taste test with five tasters was conducted at the end of each show to decide which restaurant's version of the dish was better. The show aired 1 season from March to November 2010. It was cancelled and not picked for any further seasons. The Marcus Performing Arts Center is a performing arts center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. Managed by a non-profit organization, it is marketed as Milwaukee's premier presenter of the performing arts.
