"Watch for the Hook" is a posse cut song by American Atlanta-based Southern hip hop collective Dungeon Family. It was released on December 1, 1998, via Organized Noize/Interscope Records as a lead single from member Cool Breeze debut studio album ''East Point's Greatest Hit''. It was written by André 3000, Witchdoctor, CeeLo Green, Khujo, Big Gipp, Big Boi, T-Mo, Cool Breeze, Big Rube, and Organized Noize, who produced the song using samples from Merry Clayton's cover version of Neil Young's "Southern Man". The single peaked at number 73 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100, number 18 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, number 48 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and topped the Hot Rap Songs chart in the United States. Cool Breeze (rapper)
Cool Breeze (born 12 August 1971) is an American rapper and member of the Dungeon Family. He released his debut solo album '' East Point's Greatest Hit'' in 1999. In 2001, he joined up with two rappers from a group called Sniper Unit and became known as Freddie Calhoun. He features on and is the origin to the title phrase of the 1996 Billboard 100 single "Dirty South" on Goodie Mob's debut album Soul Food. His 1998 single "Watch for the Hook" featuring Goodie Mob, Outkast, and Witchdoctor reached the Billboard 100 and #1 on the Billboard Rap charts. Organized Noize is an American production team from Atlanta, Georgia composed of Rico Wade, Ray Murray and Sleepy Brown. History Among the hit records they have worked on include TLC's "Waterfalls", En Vogue's "Don't Let Go (Love)", and Ludacris' " Saturday (Oooh! Ooooh!)". Merry Clayton (born December 25, 1948) is an American soul and gospel singer. She provided a number of backing vocal tracks for major performing artists in the 1960s, most notably in her duet with Mick Jagger on the Rolling Stones song "Gimme Shelter". Dungeon Family
The Dungeon Family is a musical collective, based in Atlanta, Georgia that specializes in Southern hip hop with heavy funk and soul influences. The group derives its name from "The Dungeon", the name given to record producer Rico Wade's studio, located in the basement of his mother's house, where many of the early members of the collective did their first recordings. Rico Wade, Ray Murray, and Sleepy Brown constitute the production/songwriting team Organized Noize, who have produced hits for the main popular Dungeon Family groups Outkast and Goodie Mob. The collective released their first album together, titled ''Even in Darkness'', on November 26, 2001. Label dissolution On October 7, 2011, it was announced that Arista, along with Jive and J Records, would be shut down. "Black Ice (Sky High)" is a song by American hip hop group Goodie Mob from their second studio album '' Still Standing'' (1998), released as its second single on June 7, 1998. The song features American hip hop duo Outkast and was produced by Mr. DJ. There are two versions of the song.
