The Washington State House elections, 2010 had primaries held on August 17, 2010 and general elections held on November 2, 2010, determining who would represent each of the 49 Legislative Districts in the state of Washington in the Washington State House of Representatives. Representatives are elected for two-year terms. The August 17, 2010 election determined which two candidates appeared on the November ballot. Each candidate was allowed to select a party preference, which was "not restricted to... an established major or minor party." Washington State House Of Representatives
The Washington House of Representatives is the lower house of the Washington State Legislature, and along with the Washington State Senate makes up the legislature of the U.S. state of Washington. It is composed of 98 Representatives from 49 districts, each of which elects one Senator and two members of the House. They are elected to separate positions with the top-two primary system. All members of the House are elected to a two-year term without term limits. The House meets at the State Capitol in Olympia. Jay Robert Rodne (born March 21, 1966) is an American lawyer and politician of the Republican Party. He is a former member of the Washington House of Representatives, representing the 5th Legislative District. Rodne is of Bad River Band of the Lake Superior Tribe of Chippewa Indians ancestry. Matthew Thomas Shea (born April 18, 1974) is an American far-right lawyer, pastor, and politician. A Republican, he represented the 4th legislative district in the Washington House of Representatives from 2009 to 2021. A 2019 report published by the Washington House of Representatives accused Shea of domestic terrorism in relation to his role in a series of standoffs with federal authorities. In October 2018, Shea acknowledged that he had distributed a four-page manifesto which called for the killing of non-Christian males if a war were to occur and they do not agree to follow fundamentalist biblical law. Timothy Sean Ormsby (born June 17, 1959) is an American politician. He is a Democratic member of the Washington House of Representatives, and represents Washington's third district since 2003. Ormsby went to North Central High School in Spokane, Washington. His brother, Michael C. Ormsby, was the US Attorney for the Eastern District of Washington. In 2018, Ormsby was charged with a DUI after rolling his Jeep, however that charge was dropped in exchange for his guilty plea to reckless driving.
