Warren L. Bishop
Warren L. Bishop (1890–1939) was an American lawyer and politician who served as District Attorney of Middlesex County, Massachusetts from 1931 to 1939. Early life Bishop was born in 1890 in Wayland, Massachusetts to George W. and Gertrude Langmaid Bishop. He attended public school in Wayland and the Boston University School of Law. He was admitted to the bar following his graduation in 1912. Politics Municipal office Bishop made his first political speech at the age of 17 and spent a number of years stumping for the Democratic Party. At the age of 21 he was elected town clerk of Wayland. He left office to serve in the coastal artillery World War I, but returned after his military service and remained in office until 1924. He concurrently served as Wayland's town counsel for 10 years. Wayland is a town in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States. The town was founded in 1638, and incorporated in 1780 and was originally part of neighboring Sudbury (incorporated 1639). As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 13,943. Benjamin Loring Young (November 7, 1885 – June 4, 1964) of Weston, Massachusetts was a US lawyer and politician who served as the Speaker of the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1921 to 1924. Born in Weston in 1885, Young graduated from Harvard College in 1907 and Harvard Law School in 1911. Following nine years of legal practice, Young retired from the law. In 1910, Young was elected a Selectman of the Town of Weston, Massachusetts, a position he held for thirty-six years. Daniel Needham (May 2, 1891 – June 20, 1971) was an American attorney, political figure, and Massachusetts National Guard officer who served as commander of the Yankee Division and Massachusetts Commissioner of Public Safety. Early life Needham was born on May 2, 1891, in Groton, Massachusetts. He attended Phillips Academy and graduated from Harvard College in 1913.
