Warren Hill (murderer)
Warren Lee Hill Jr. (June 28, 1960 – January 27, 2015) was a prisoner executed in Georgia in the United States. Hill was originally sentenced to life imprisonment for shooting and killing his girlfriend, Myra Wright, in 1985. He was subsequently sentenced to death for killing his cellmate, Joseph Handspike. In 1990, Hill killed Handspike in their cell by bludgeoning him to death with a wooden board studded with nails. His execution by lethal injection, scheduled for July 15, 2013, was postponed due to a legal challenge against Georgia's Lethal Injection Secrecy Act. This law, passed in March 2013, makes the identities of companies and individuals who make and supply lethal injection drugs, and the identities of the doctors hired by the state to oversee executions, a "state secret" that must be shielded from disclosure to the public, the media, and even the judiciary. Georgia Diagnostic And Classification Prison
Opened in 1969, Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison (GDCP) is a Georgia Department of Corrections prison for men in unincorporated Butts County, Georgia, near Jackson. The prison holds the state execution chamber. The execution equipment was moved to the prison in June 1980, with the first execution in the facility occurring on December 15, 1983. The prison houses the male death row (UDS, "under death sentence"), while female death row inmates reside in Arrendale State Prison. Murder Of Kyle Dinkheller
The murder of Kyle Dinkheller took place on Monday, January 12, 1998, when Dinkheller, a deputy in the Laurens County, Georgia, sheriff's office, pulled over motorist and Vietnam War veteran Andrew Howard Brannan for speeding. A verbal confrontation escalated to a shootout resulting in Brannan murdering Dinkheller. The murder continues to receive national attention because the traffic stop and shootout were captured on a personal video recorder Dinkheller had placed on his patrol car dashboard and activated when he stopped Brannan. Robert Charles Ladd
Robert Charles Ladd (March 19, 1957 – January 29, 2015) was an American serial killer who was convicted and sentenced to death for murdering a woman in Tyler, Texas, in 1996, after being paroled for a 1978 triple murder in Dallas. He was executed for the latter crime in 2015, a controversial decision due to his alleged mental disability. Triple murder In October 1978, Ladd broke into the Dallas apartment of 18-year-old Vivian Geanett Thompson, whom he proceeded to stab ten times in the back, neck, chest, and abdomen. He then put her body in the closet and set it on fire, with the fire quickly spreading to the rest of the apartment. While Ladd managed to escape in time, Thompson's two children, 3-year-old Maurice and 18-month-old Latoya, died from smoke inhalation. By the time the fire was extinguished, Vivian and Maurice's bodies were so severely burned that they had been fused together.
