Warnervale, New South Wales
Warnervale is a town in the Australian state of New South Wales. It lies approximately 95 km north of the Sydney CBD, located west of Tuggerah Lake, a large shallow coastal lake, and just north of Wyong. History The development of Warnervale was first undertaken by Albert Hamlyn Warner who in 1893 acquired of land in the area. Warner was probably one of the Wyong area's most notable residents and was strongly influenced by his travels in both Japan and the United States, which is today evidenced in road names in surrounding suburbs such as Minnesota, Virginia, Louisiana, Hiawatha and Nikko, as well as his family home which was named 'Hakone' after a park he had seen in Japan. Warnervale was first identified as a growth area in the Sydney Region Outline Plan in 1968. The Central Coast is a peri-urban region in New South Wales, Australia, lying on the Tasman Sea coast to the north of Sydney and south of Newcastle. The local government area of the Central Coast Council has an estimated population of 333,627 as of June 2018, growing by 1% annually. Comprising localities such as Gosford, Wyong and Terrigal, the area is the third-largest urban area in New South Wales and the ninth-largest urban area in Australia. Watanobbi, New South Wales
Watanobbi is a suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia. It is part of the local government area, and is part of the Warnervale development precinct. Although many believed the name's origin was Aboriginal, with the Wyong Shire originally claiming it meant "hills surrounded by water", the Geographic Names Board later confirmed there was no Aboriginal significance to the name, with the two most likely sources being a corruption of the Japanese surname Watanabe, ascribed to a friend of well-travelled pioneer Albert Warner, or a comment made by early landowner Allan Chapman about the "nobby" shape of the surrounding terrain, have been suggested. Landowners, claiming they were the butt of rude jokes and that the suburb's house prices had remained static relative to other areas, attempted unsuccessfully to have the name changed to Chapman Gardens in early 2002. Main North Railway Line, New South Wales
The Main North Line (also known as the Great Northern Railway) is a major railway in New South Wales, Australia. It runs through the Central Coast, Hunter and New England regions. The line was the original main line between Sydney and Brisbane, however this required a change of gauge at Wallangarra. As of 1988, the line closed progressively north of Armidale with services gradually withdrawn till 2004, with the main route between Sydney and Brisbane now the North Coast line. Description of route The line starts as a branch off the Main Suburban line at Strathfield in Sydney. The line heads north as a quadruple track electrified line to Rhodes, crossing the John Whitton Bridge over the Parramatta River as a double track line. Warnervale Airport
Warnervale Airport , also known as Warnervale Aerodrome, from ''Airservices Australia'' is located in Warnervale, a town in New South Wales, Australia. It is operated by Central Coast Council in Wyong, New South Wales. This unlicensed general aviation airport contains one runway designated 02/20 which is long. There have also been many plans over the years to expand Warnervale Airport, one was finally approved by the Central Coast Council in early 2022. The airport is about a 1-hour 10 minute drive north of Sydney and around 40 minutes south of Newcastle, east of the Pacific Motorway. Access is via Jack Grant Avenue (off Sparks Road). Westfield Tuggerah is a large shopping centre in the suburb of Tuggerah on the Central Coast. It is the second largest shopping centre on the Central Coast after Erina Fair. Transport Tuggerah Station is 200 metres away from Westfield Tuggerah and is on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line. The station is serviced by trains which operate between Sydney and Wyong and Newcastle, as well as local trains starting at Gosford. Long Jetty, New South Wales
Long Jetty is a suburb of the Central Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, located on a peninsula between Tuggerah Lake and the Pacific Ocean south of The Entrance. It is part of the local government area. The only street in The Entrance district to go from the lake to the sea starts in Long Jetty as Toowoon Bay Road. History The jetty after which the town was named is located at the end of Archbold Road. The jetty was opened in 1915 and celebrated 100 years in 2015. This provided a cross lake service with Wyong.
