Warmley Railway Station
Warmley was a small railway station just south of Mangotsfield on the Midland Railway Mangotsfield and Bath Branch Line. The station was sited just north of a level crossing on the A420 road through the village. It had wooden buildings: the shelter on the down platform (towards Bath) survives and is used on occasion as a refreshment stop on the Bristol & Bath Railway Path, which follows the route of the railway. Warmley
Warmley is a village in South Gloucestershire, England. Warmley is situated in between Bristol and Bath. It is a parish, with its own church, and has some minor landmarks, such as a World War One memorial the focus of Remembrance Services, and a statue of Neptune. It has a main lane, the High Street, having a Tesco and a post office, as well as a barber's. The former bicycle shop has been converted to flats. The War Memorial bears the names of the parishioners who fell in the Great War. Transport The A420 road runs through the village and connects with the Avon Ring Road immediately west of the village. Beyond Warmley the road routes west towards Bristol and east towards Chippenham. The Midland Railway's line from Bristol as part of the Mangotsfield and Bath Branch Line used to run through the village but closed in the 1960s. Mangotsfield Railway Station
Mangotsfield railway station was a railway station on the Midland Railway route between Bristol and Birmingham, north-east of and from , serving what is now the Bristol suburb of Mangotsfield. The station was opened in 1845 by the Bristol and Gloucester Railway, but had very little in the way of passenger amenities. The station was resited in 1869 to serve the new Mangotsfield and Bath Branch Line, and became an important junction station with extensive facilities and six platforms. Passenger footfall however failed to match the station's size, though at its peak eight staff were employed. The station closed in 1966 when services to Bath ended as part of the Beeching cuts, and the line through the station closed in 1969. The railway became a cycle path in the 1980s, and is a popular resting point on the route as several of the station's walls and platforms are still in situ. Oldland Common Railway Station
Oldland Common Halt is a railway station on the Avon Valley Railway. The station is on the same site as a previous station which was on the-then LMS Bath branch from Mangotsfield. Then, as now, paths led down to the platforms from North Street. However, until 1966 there were two platforms, one for each direction of travel. Original station Oldland Common's first station opened on 2 December 1935 on the LMS branch line that had been originally opened by the Midland Railway through this site in 1869. The station was intended to serve the growing suburban development in the area. It had platforms built of railway sleepers, and a small ticket office on the footpath that led down from the top of the cutting in which it was sited. Bitton railway station is the main station (and headquarters) of the Avon Valley Railway. It is located near the village of Bitton, South Gloucestershire. Bristol St Philips Railway Station
St Philip's railway station was a small terminus station in Bristol built by the Midland Railway to relieve pressure on the main station at Bristol Temple Meads, which it shared with the Great Western Railway. The station had a single platform and was used principally by the local services between Bristol and Bath Green Park, via Mangotsfield. Bath Green Park Railway Station
Green Park railway station is a former railway station in Bath, Somerset, England. For most of its life, it was known as ''Bath Queen Square''. Architecture and opening Green Park station was opened in 1870 as the terminus of Midland Railway's Mangotsfield and Bath Branch Line. The station buildings were designed by the Midland Railway architect John Holloway Sanders. It was built in an elegant style which blends well with the Georgian buildings around it and includes a vaulted glass roof in a single-span wrought iron arch structure.
