Amanda Benoit-Wark
Amanda Benoit-Wark (born January 22, 1976) is a Canadian ice hockey player. Benoit-Wark played for the Canada women's national ice hockey team from 1996 to 2004. Benoit is a two-time World Champion playing in both 1999 and 2000 World Championships. Playing career During the 1980s, she played organized hockey in Welland, Ontario and with the Stoney Creek Minor Hockey Association, capturing MVP honours at Stoney Creek in 1988. In 1993, she was selected to play with Team Ontario Red at the 1993 Canadian national women's under-18 championship. Not only would she emerge with the gold medal, but she was recognized as the tournament's Most Valuable Player. With the Beatrice Aeros of the former Central Ontario Women's Hockey League (COWHL), Benoit-Wark appeared at the Esso Women's National Championships on seven occasions. John Wark, Lord Wark
John Lean Wark, Lord Wark LLD (1877–1943) was a Scottish lawyer who served as a Senator of the College of Justice. Life He was born in 1877. He is thought to be the son of John Wark, a Glasgow lawyer living in Pollokshields. In 1908, as his main claim to fame, he preceded over the final trial at Inverary Courthouse. In 1910 he is listed as an advocate living in a flat at 12 Nelson Street, Edinburgh. In February 1933 he was elected a Senator of the College of Justice under the title of Lord Wark. He succeeded Christopher Johnston, Lord Sands as Convenor of the Restoration Committee of Greyfriars Kirk in Edinburgh. Robert Lee Rayford (February 3, 1953 – May 15 1969), sometimes identified as Robert R. due to his age, was an American teenager from Missouri who has been suggested to represent the earliest confirmed case of HIV/AIDS in North America based on evidence which was published in 1988 in which the authors claimed that medical evidence indicated that he was "infected with a virus closely related or identical to human immunodeficiency virus type 1." Rayford died of pneumonia, but his other symptoms baffled the doctors who treated him. A study published in 1988 reported the detection of antibodies against HIV. Results of testing for HIV genetic material were reported once at a scientific conference in Australia in 1999; however, the data has never been published in a peer-reviewed medical or scientific journal. Sarah Wark (born February 17, 1986 in Winnipeg) is a Canadian curler from Chilliwack, British Columbia. She currently skips her own team out of Abbotsford. Career As a junior curler, Wark and her team of Darah Provencal, Stephanie Jackson and Sarah Neal won the provincial championship in 2005. John Wark (born 4 August 1957) is a Scottish former footballer who spent most of his playing time with Ipswich Town. He won a record four Player of the Year awards before becoming one of the four inaugural members of the club's Hall of Fame. Wark had long spells at the club, which bookended his career, and a third, brief interlude dividing his briefer periods at Liverpool and Middlesbrough. Betty Lou Wark
Betty Lou Fox (née Wark; November 15, 1937 – June 17, 2011) was a Canadian cancer research activist, the mother of Terry Fox and founder of the Terry Fox Foundation. She was the most prominent figure in Terry Fox's legacy. Biography Fox was born in Boissevain, Manitoba, on November 15, 1937. She was raised in Melita, Manitoba, and in her teens moved to Winnipeg, where she met her husband Rolland "Rolly" Fox, who was working for the Canadian National Railway. They married in 1956.
