Ward River (Gulf Of Carpentaria)
The Ward River is a river located in Far North Queensland, Australia. The headwaters of the river rise on the Cape York Peninsula approximately from the west coast and flows south through uninhabited country along the coastal plain and eventually discharges into Archer Bay, along with the Archer and Watson River, just north of Aurukun and then onto the Gulf of Carpentaria. Four tributaries contribute to the Ward; Coconut Creek, Tappelbang Creek, Sandy Creek and Possum Creek. The Watson River is a river located in Far North Queensland, Australia. The headwaters of the river rise near the Aurukun Road and flows in a south westerly direction to Watson Crossing and continues through a valley before discharging into Archer Bay near Aurukun along with the Archer River and the Ward River, then onto the Gulf of Carpentaria. Archer River
The Archer River is a river located on the Cape York Peninsula, Far North Queensland, Australia. Course and features The headwaters of the river rise in the McIlwraith Range and it flows west, traversing tropical savanna plains and wetlands, flowing through Piccaninny Plains Sanctuary and Oyala Thumotang National Park, and enters the Archer Bay in the Gulf of Carpentaria on the western side of the peninsula near the town of Aurukun along with the Watson River and the Ward River.
