Bent Farmhouse, Warburton
Bent Farmhouse is in Bent Lane in the village of Warburton, Greater Manchester, England, opposite the church of St Werburgh. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. History The house was built in 1600 by Robert Drinkwater. It was a timber-framed house which was restored in 1880 by the Chester architect John Douglas for Rowland Egerton-Warburton of Arley Hall, who added "Douglas-like features and character". Architecture The house is built on a stone plinth. It has a brick front with terracotta dressings and much timber framing elsewhere. Douglas' restoration is described as being "heavy" and "interesting". Blue Flyer (formerly Zipper Dipper and Warburtons Milk Roll-A-Coaster) is a Wooden roller coaster at Nickelodeon Land, Blackpool Pleasure Beach in Blackpool, England. It was built in 1934. It is believed to have been built by Charlie Paige. It is a family coaster. Blue Flyer operates with one train, which was built by Philadelphia Toboggan Coasters. Warburtons is a British baking firm founded by Thomas Warburton in 1876 and based in Bolton, a town formerly in Lancashire, England, and now in Greater Manchester. Fort Warburton
Fort Washington, located near the community of Fort Washington, Maryland, was for many decades the only defensive fort protecting Washington D.C. The original fort, overlooking the Potomac River, was completed in 1809, and was begun as Fort Warburton, but renamed in 1808. During the War of 1812, the fort was destroyed by its own garrison during a British advance. The current historic fort—maintained by the National Park Service—was initially constructed in 1824. It is a stone structure with a good cannon shot down the Potomac River. The fort was extensively remodeled in the 1840s and 1890s. The Fort was turned over to the U.S. Department of the Interior in 1946 after its last military personnel departed. The expansive grounds of the present Fort Washington Park, with its extensive hiking/bicycle paths and river view, are a scenic venue for picnicking, fishing, and outdoor recreation. Warburton's Wood Nature Reserve
Warburton's Wood Nature Reserve is a nature reserve near Kingsley, Cheshire, England, managed by the Cheshire Wildlife Trust. The reserve consists of semi-natural woodland either side of a clough, or small valley, containing a tributary of the River Weaver. Together with Well Wood, a similar clough woodland to the east, it forms part of the Warburton's Wood and Well Wood Site of Special Scientific Interest, which covers a larger area of . Warburton School
Warburton School is on the south side of Dunham Road in the village of Warburton, Greater Manchester, England. It has been converted into a house and is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building. The school was built in 1871–72 for the landowner Rowland Egerton-Warburton of Arley Hall, and was designed by the Chester architect John Douglas. It is constructed in brick with stone and terracotta dressings, and has a tiled roof. The building has three bays; from the left, the first two bays contain seven-light mullioned windows. Above the window in the central bay is a dormer gable that contains a three-light mullioned window. The right bay contains a modern patio window. Between the left and central bays is a decorated brick chimney stack. Above the main roof is a hipped bellcote. In the interior of the building are two pairs of truncated crucks supporting the roof.
