Warangal Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 17 Lok Sabha (Lower House of the Parliament) constituencies in Telangana state in southern India. This constituency is reserved for the candidates belonging to the Scheduled castes Pasunoori Dayakar of Telangana Rashtra Samithi is currently representing the constituency for the first time. Overview Since its inception in 1952 the seat was won by many political parties with Congress winning 8 times out of 16 whereas other outfits like Telangana Praja Samithi and the Telugu Desam Party have won it during different general elections. Telangana Rashtra Samithi
Bharat Rashtra Samithi ( ; BRS), formerly known as Telangana Rashtra Samithi ( TRS), is an Indian political party which is predominantly active in the state of Telangana. It was founded on 27 April 2001 as by K. Chandrashekar Rao, with a single-point agenda of creating a separate Telangana state with Hyderabad as its capital. It has been instrumental in carrying forth a sustained agitation for the granting of statehood to Telangana. In the 2014 Telangana Assembly Election, the party won a majority of seats and formed the first government of the State with K. Chandrashekar Rao as its chief minister. In the 2014 general election the party won 11 seats, making it the eighth largest party in Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Indian Parliament. Adivasi
The Adivasi refers to inhabitants of Indian subcontinent, generally tribal people. The term is a Sanskrit word coined in the 1930s by political activists to give the tribal people an indigenous identity by claiming an indigenous origin. The term is also used for ethnic minorities, such as Chakmas of Bangladesh, Khas of Nepal, and Vedda of Sri Lanka. The Constitution of India does not use the word ''Adivasi'', instead referring to Scheduled Tribes and Janjati. The government of India does not officially recognise tribes as indigenous people. Sadath Ali Khan
Sadath Ali Khan was an Indian political and member of first and second Lok Sabha. He represented Warangal parliamentary constituency from 1952 to 1962. A member of the Indian National Congress, he also served as a secretary to the government of India from 1953 to 57. He later served as the Indian Ambassador to Iraq (1962-1965) and Turkey (1966-1967). He died during his tenure in Turkey. 1957 Indian General Election
General elections were held in India between 24 February and 9 June 1957, the second elections to the Lok Sabha after independence. They were held five years after the 1951–52 elections in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of India. Elections to many state legislatures were held simultaneously. There were 494 seats elected using first past the post voting system. Out of the 403 constituencies, 91 elected two members, while the remaining 312 elected a single member. The multi-seat constituencies were abolished before the next election. Under the leadership of Jawaharlal Nehru, the Indian National Congress easily won a second term in power, taking 371 of the 494 seats. Pendyal Raghava Rao
Pendyala Raghava Rao () (15 March 1917 – 10 September 1987) was an Indian politician. He was the son of Shri Pendyal Ramchander Rao and was born in Chinna Pendyal of the Warangal district in March 1917. He was educated at Warangal High School and married Shrimati Venkatamma in 1934. The couple had 2 sons. After the death of his wife, he married Shrimati Kausalya devi and had 2 sons and 2 daughters from this marriage. He resisted the Conversion Movement in 1935–36, joined Congress Satyagraha in 1938, and was sentenced to imprisonment with fine of Rs. 300. Warangal District(R)
Warangal district, formerly Warangal Rural district, is a district in the Indian state of Telangana. The district shares boundaries with Mahabubabad, Jangaon, Hanamkonda, Mulugu and Bhupalpally districts. As of June 2021, Hanamkonda tentatively serves as the district headquarters of both Hanamkonda and Warangal districts. Warangal city is proposed to replace Hanamkonda as the new headquarters of the Warangal district.
