War Of The Supermen
''Superman: War of the Supermen'' is an American comic book limited series from DC Comics that serves as the culmination to the ''Superman'' line-wide event '' New Krypton''. The series began on Free Comic Book Day 2010, with a zero-issue released free of charge before the main limited series began the following week. The whole event is portrayed as a "100 Minute War" in the narrative's time, although the whole event lasted one month in May 2010. No other ''Superman'' family books were solicited that month other than ''Superman/Batman'' and '' Adventure Comics'' neither of which crosses over into the ''War of the Supermen.'' Eddy Barrows
Eduardo Barros (born August 18, 1967) is a Brazilian comic book artist, better known by his pen name of Eddy Barrows. He is best known for his work at DC Comics on such titles as ''Birds of Prey (comics), Birds of Prey'', ''Countdown to Adventure'', ''Action Comics'', ''Superman (comic book), Superman'', ''Teen Titans'', and ''52 (comics), 52''. Early life Barrows was born on in Belém do Pará, Brazil. He and his parents moved to Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais when he was 2 years old. During his childhood, his mother introduced him to ''Monica's Gang, Turma da Mônica'' – a Brazilian comic by Maurício de Sousa – and works from the Disney company. She read them to him, and Barrows immediately fell in love with comics immediately, eventually starting to draw. While never having gone to school specifically for art, Barrows studied animation for two to three years before becoming a working artist. ''Adventure Comics'' is an American comic book series published by DC Comics from 1938 to 1983 and revived from 2009 to 2011. In its first era, the series ran for 503 issues (472 of those after the title changed from ''New Adventure Comics''), making it the fifth-longest-running DC series, behind '' Detective Comics'', ''Action Comics'', '' Superman'', and '' Batman''. The series was revived in 2009 through a new "#1" issue by artist Clayton Henry and writer Geoff Johns. It returned to its original numbering with #516 (September 2010). Thara Ak-Var
Thara Ak-Var is a fictional character appearing in comic books published by DC Comics, created by Geoff Johns and James Robinson. The character first appeared during the '' Superman: New Krypton'' storyline in '' Superman'' #681 (October 2008). She is the latest character to take on the role of Flamebird. Along with the new Nightwing, Thara is the feature character in ''Action Comics'' beginning with issue #875 (May 2009). Thara Ak-Var's name is a reference to Ak-Var, who was the second pre-Crisis Flamebird, and his wife, Thara. This character was portrayed by Esmé Bianco in the third season of ''Supergirl''. Fictional character biography Silver Age In the Silver Age, Thara was the wife of Ak-Var, lab assistant to the Kandorian scientist Van-Zee, who was also Thara's uncle. Christopher Kent (Lor-Zod) is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. The character first appeared in ''Action Comics'' #844 (December 2006) and was created by Richard Donner, Geoff Johns, and Adam Kubert. As the biological son of General Zod and Ursa (DC Comics), Ursa, he is a Kryptonian who becomes the foster son of Superman, Clark Kent (Superman) and his wife Lois Lane. Guardian (DC Comics)
Guardian (James Jacob "Jim" Harper) is a DC Comics superhero introduced in April 1942 by writer/artist Joe Simon and artist Jack Kirby. Guardian resembles the earlier Kirby and Simon character Captain America (first published 13 months earlier by Marvel Comics), as he had no super powers and carried an indestructible shield. When Kirby returned to DC in 1970, he eventually re-established the character as a supporting one in the '' Superman'' franchise: as a clone who was head of security for Project Cadmus.
