"War Crimes" is a comic book crossover storyline published by DC Comics. The event ran during the month of August 2005 in the ''Batman'' and ''Detective Comics'' series, and is the sequel to another Batman crossover, '' War Games''. While originally released by itself in trade paperback format, the later trade paperback release in 2016 would have this event as part of ''Batman: War Games Vol. 2''. Plot summary In the wake of Gotham's recent brutal gang war, Black Mask controls the criminal underworld. Batman patrols the streets alone, as Robin (Tim Drake), Batgirl (Cassandra Cain), and Oracle (Barbara Gordon) have all left Gotham in the wake of the death and destruction and his own culpability in the chaos. The police, under Commissioner Akins, hunt him. In Bludhaven, Tim and Cassandra train, fight crime, and attempt to deal with the death of Stephanie Brown. James Jean is a Taiwanese-American visual artist working primarily in painting and drawing. He lives and works in Los Angeles, where he moved from New York in 2003. Andersen Gabrych
Andersen Gabrych is an American comic book writer and actor. Early life Gabrych grew up in Chico, California. He's been a fan of comics since childhood, having read an issue of ''Justice League of America'' at the age of 7. Gabrych was active in drama at Chico Senior High School before graduating in 1991. Career As an actor, Gabrych has appeared in ''Edge of Seventeen'', '' Boys Life 4: Four Play'', ''Gypsy 83'', ''Hit and Runway'', ''Another Gay Movie'' and its sequel. Off-Broadway, he has appeared in productions at The Public Theater, New York Theatre Workshop, Ensemble Studio Theater, Westbeth Theatre Center and Here!. Stephanie Brown is a superheroine appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, most commonly associated with Batman. The character first appeared in ''Detective Comics'' #647 (June 1992) and was created by Chuck Dixon and Tom Lyle. The daughter of the criminal Cluemaster, the character originated as the amateur crime-fighter named the Spoiler. Later, she briefly became the fourth Robin (character), Robin and the third Batgirl. She has also served as the love interest/girlfriend of the third Robin (character), Robin, Tim Drake. From 2009 to 2011, she was the star of her own ongoing ''Batgirl'' comic book series.
